Which one would you get? HeartGold or SoulSilver?

I did do some research, but didn't find the answer I was looking for. If there's already a thread like this, I apologize, I must have missed it.

I'm new the the whole pokemon thing, well, I did play it when I was little, but can't remember much of it now... Since it is the best selling DS title, I would love to give it a try when HG/SS come out. At first I had no idea what's the difference between the two, after doing some homework, I guess the only difference is version's exclusion pokemons. (by exclusives, I certainly don't mean the legendary birds on the cover, since they both appear in the game, just one being more difficult than another).

If there's any other difference, please let me know, too :) I'll be getting one of these versions for sure, so any advise would help!

TBH, I don't get into the whole Pokemon thing. You're just buying the same game every year...with minor updates. It's like buying Madden every year for the roster updates. But whatever, it's not my money.

heart gold you can get kyroge and in soul silver you can get groudon.

Also like you mentioned some of the other less important pokemon are different.

but other than that, they are basically the same

Im getting SS. It was hard to pick between Kyogre and Groudon (you get both Ho-oh and Lugia in both versions). In the end I decided Groudon and went with SS.

How come HG gets two more exclusive Pokemon then SS, this is unjust. :P

I'll be getting both versions. I actually saw copies of them in the store today and they were on sale, but I couldn't justify spending that money on a product I would only partially understand. I'll wait for the English versions and be happier for it. I almost bought SS though. It was close.

I will get HeartGold first because back in the day, I got Gold first. But I will probably end up getting HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Heart gold exclusives are for the most part better then soul silvers so heart gold probably, even if the name is completely dire.

I'm not really excited about heartgold or soulsilver. But I would buy soulsilver.

Honestly, after you take away the updates, it's all the same old thing that, imo, gets old quick. So, there's something new...I just don't get into it. But like I said, it's not my money. I'm not going to say that you're wrong in getting the game, but don't include me in the hype.

I plan on getting Soul Silver.

I'm personally gonna get.... Oh damn, was going to get HeartGold, but the name put me off... SoulSilver it is then.

I'm gonna try to get both, but if I can't do that, I'll be getting SoulSilver simply because I like Lugia more and silver is my favorite metal. The difference is negligible at best, though.

Too bad they aren't going to remake Crystal. There's really nothingcool you can add to the Pokemon games at this point. Besides customizable characters.
