I've looked at the stores, and I've seen dozens of different Pokemon stretching from original Game Boy all the way through DS. I have no desire to buy 2 or 3 different versions to collect as many as I can.

The question I have is, which Pokemon game has the highest count of catchable Pokemon, WITHOUT having to use another game to "catch 'em all?" Is there a game out that actually incorporates all of them into one game yet?

Thanks.

Sadly no, but that's just part of the series. The closest thing would be Platinum since its only missing about 59 of the current 493 Pokemon. However, the upcoming Gold and Silver remakes are only missing about 49 Pokemon (the majority of which you can get in Diamond/Peral/Platinum).

However, some of those missing Pokemon are event-only or are ones where you're given a choice of three, but can only choose one and have to trade for the other two. Plus, there are currently three Pokemon only available through linkage to Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald. So really there's no way around it, if you want to "catch them all", you have to trade.
