I'm sure if your posting in this section, your PROB going to want to buy Wii U. Some might want to wait alittle for a certain game. Some might even have to be convinced, and could just be 3DS fans exploring some more Nintendo ground.

For those who Wii U isn't a day one purchase so far, what will you have to see at next years E3 to have you put your Wii U reserve down?

- My answer: I will prob be camping out for this system. Even if they don't show any games, I'll still be there at launch. lol!

But I would like to see more 3rd party games announced just like they would be announced on 360. Versions that are not watered down, and hopefully they will have exclusive Wii U features. I hope to see a lot of 3rd party exclusives too!

The hardware itself didn't look impressive and there were no games to speak of

Ports of old games will not make people get this console, heck most of Nintendo's main demographic doesn't even know it's a new system

I don't know. A Metroid would probably leave me wanting one a lot. But they sure need to show some games. Getting a system that doesn't have any games is pointless. If they show "what the Wii-U can do" instead of games, I'll be pissed.

Third party exclusives are almost dead. Even third parties like Bungie and Insomniac are going multiplat after over a decade of making games for Microsoft and Sony.

I would have to see some brand new IP's and some old favorites announced that have not seen a new iteration in years. F-zero, Star Fox, and Wave Race are games I want to see return. I would want to see a 3D mario go the exploratory route again instead of linear. Nintendo are ready has Mario Bros for a linear experience, make the 3D Mario more exporatory like 64 and Sunshine were. This way, Nintendo can have more styles of play. Nintendo needs to have plenty of games that ACTUALLY use the new controller to an extent instead of games that are mainly traditional with a little something on the side. If Nintendo puts out a peripheral to enhance the controller, do not wait three years to bring it out and then only have four games that use it well. Third person adventure games could have been a lot of fun if the developers did cool things with it simialr to the new Zelda.

Xenoblade, Fatal Frame IV, and The Last Storyrebuilt from the ground up for the Wii U with hours of additional content. Oh, and it's for North America only.

That, and a new Metroid, F-Zeroand Mother game.

none really. not much was really shown regarding wiiu games. 3rd party stuff was from multiplats (which i tend to buy on another platform) and ninty didnt really show anything outside of basic demos to showcase the hardware. the console itself looks interesting and im sure next E3 will show a lot more with regard to wiiu games. but at the mo, games wise, there isnt much to get me excited outside of ideas and potential.

I can be patient about buying Nintendo handhelds, but their next gen home console is day 1 purchase almost certainly. I finally need a new console in general, this gen has been going on for way too long (360 came out in... 2005!?) and I'm slowly getting sick of it.

I'm expecting a games blowout at next E3, like 2006 for Wii. Even if it's going to ,just' half as good, I'll be happy- First year for Wii was really good.

2006 was an awful year for the Wii

Nintendo still didn't have a grasp on it's software and third parties were absent because they didn't believe in it, the best efforts were mostly last gen ports

2006 wasn't a Wii year. It was a month, lol. Off the top of head, within the (literal) first year of the Wii there were Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Excite Truck, Super Paper Mario and the definite version of RE4.

No, I know that the launch isnt going to have the greatest games of the year or even the generation. But, I like buying consoles at launch. Sure, thats dumb, but I see no point in waiting a year or so for something that Im going to buy anyway.

The only one that interested me was Batman Arkham City. I'm not getting a Wii U just for that and the price will be dropped for that game very quickly as seeing how that game will have already been released for a full freekin year. There's nothing.

GTA V as a launch title with far superior eye candy compared to the PS3 and 360 may shift a few consoles off shelves, same goes for any other big-name multiplatform titles. For me personally I'm interested in Freaks the most - for starters it's set in London, secondly I like the humour, thirdly I love anything with anything even slightly resembling Raving Rabbids and finally because I was impressed with the proof-of-concept demo.

no reason to wait? potential price drops better quality system see the games out and if its worth it see the competition's systems/launch titles if it gets an early price drop, you don't feel F'ed(3DS) most of the earlier/launch titles aren't that great there's a few for ya :)

Very clear that many people in this thread looked at the thread title and nothing else, lol.

As for me, I would love to see a Retro-developed Star Fox. Honestly that alone might be enough, though the final release of Pikmin 3 would also be great. I also fully expect New Super Mario Bros. Mii to become a full game based on the ridiculous sales of NSMBWii. If those three were confirmed for the first 3 months of the Wii U, I'd buy it at or near launch.

there is basically no chance that I'm getting this system, but I might change my mind if two things happen at next year's E3:

1) Reggie Fils-aime is fired live on stage.

2) They they get 3rd parties to announce games across a wide variety of genres (RPGs, Shooters, Action, Fighting, Sim, the works). They don't have to come out at launch obviously, but announcements of actual titles would go a long way for me.

Well honestly if just the second condition is met I will take another look at getting a Wii U.

None of the games shown would make me pick up the system day one. Even the system itself seems iffy to me. So I'm waiting until E3 to fully make up my mind. How Nintendo of America has handled releases on the Wii this year has annoyed me to no end. I don't want to deal with that with the Wii U and they've shown nothing to make me think things won't continue along the same path. Nothing from 3rd parties have shown me that they won't crap over the system like they did the GameCube and Wii.

Eh, I like my $249.99 3DS. I also like the free games that I got. Better quality system? Well, if the Wii U's hardware is as well made as the Wii's, then I dont expect RROD like problems to occur. I have good, high quality, Wii games that will work on my Wii U that will hold me over till the Wii U's libary starts to get better games. Nintendo was blinded by the Success of the Wii and DS, so they expect too much from sales and consumers, they wont repeat that mistake with the Wii U. So I doubt a price drop within the first year of the life cycle will happen.

But over all, ever since buying the Wii at launch, I just simply like the feeling that I was one of the first to get my hands on this amazing device.

That NSMB game looked great. The only question is, will it actually get made? We know it was just a tech demo, like the Zelda one. But I think it was good enough to warrant starting full development on the game.

The problem I see with the Wii-U is it gives me no incentive to buy 3rd party multiplatform games. All the multiplatform games will be on the 360 or PS3. Those consoles have already been established for the past couple years, and I have my achievements/trophies on those consoles. Why would I buy the system for games I could buy on a different system that I already have. I'll buy it when Nintendo's amazing first party line up comes, and when their is a 3rd party line up exclusive to the wii-U.

Maybe a Metroid prime style game with online play. Now that would be Ace! Maybe some companies will announce game of the year editions that will come to the Wii-U. Games like Dark Souls or...I can think of any other games right now. Wait a minute Pikman 3 you owe it to me Miyamoto!

I have a feeling Wii U is going to be big. If they come out at E3 and say that games like GTA V, and just really surprise people with what 3rd parties are doing, Nintendo might do some destroying again. Mom's will def buy the new Wii Fit, and the next NEXT gen systems might have games taking so long to make that 3rd parties might find it easier to make games on Wii U, with graphics they have been used to for 5 years.

I REALLY hope I hear that the system is ATLEAST two times as powerful as PS3. That would really tickle me as well.Plus it's about time people are going to start to look for something new to buy. You can see PS3's already (finally) gaining steam (5 years later) just because people are looking to get a new system just because it's time.

Either way, Wii U is going to be an incredibly cool system. Things are really going to be great if we hear something about the greater power it might have, if 3rd parties really bring it, with exclusive Wii U tablet features, and we see some legit Nintendo games being shown. All those combined are a DEVESTATING force!! I'm prob buying this system day one anyway.... but I would see like an extra special giddy little child if all these things come through next June!! ;D

I don't like him. Its a personal opinion, but the guy grates on my nerves everytime I hear him speak. The most recent example was the 3DS commercial "what's wrong with you?" NoA under him is why I no longer like Nintendo. NoJ manages to secure quality content for their users, as evidenced by the 3DS line up in Japan... NoA? Only first party titles. NoJ working with japanese 3rd party devs to get games onto their platform. NoA? Nothing from the east or west.

I'm pretty sure Wii U will be the same. NoA will just wait for 1st party games to carry the system.

NoA under him is why I no longer like Nintendo.

There's also the whole localization issue under Reggie, but let's keep that to a minimum.

They arent going to fire Reggie.

Like I said, when I see lots and lots of games I want, I'll buy it. The whole firing Reggie thing would be awesome though.

What would it matter? Reggie isn't any better or worse than any other CEO, and under him NoA has been turning an amazing profit.

No, he's much worse because all he's done this generation is alienate the people who make his products

Also Nintendo has lost money under him, where they made money is the top tier people in Japan, they're the ones who have done all the work to keep Nintendo alive. Reggie has taken their softballs being lobbed and hemorrhaged money.

1. Reggie is the MAN!

The man who has cost Nintendo millions and made the company so weak financially and in the public eye that they can't afford to do what's needed to keep their current hardware afloat.
