Which Wii U will U buy?

Which version will you buy?

The Basic Set (White) costs $300 and has 8GB of internal storage.

The Deluxe Set (Black) costs $350, has 32GB of internal storage and includes the game "Nintendo Land", a deluxe digital promotion and a bunch of accessories (GamePad Stand, GamePad Cradle, Console Stand).

My opinion is that the Wii U is overpriced. I think that $300 is a bit too much, but the price is along what was expected. However, you shouldn't even consider to buy the "cheaper" version.

The deluxe version comes with 5 extra things: the game "Nintendo Land", a digital promotion, a GamePad stand, a GamePad Cradle and a Console Stand.

My point is that the game alone is enough reason to buy the deluxe version. Nintendo Land by itslef will cost $60. The promotion will give you free games if you purchase digital downloads. And let's give a price of $10 to the stands and $20 to the charging cradle.

Conclusion: If you are already paying $300 for the Wii U, then definetely pay $50 more for products that are worth at least $100. And I'm not even considering the digital promotion.

I plan on waiting a bit, but when I do get one it's going to be the Deluxe package. It's the best choice if you plan on getting some of the cool looking downloadable titles coming to Wii U.

white for me... i like white.. just preordered at toys r us today.

Getting the Deluxe also bundled with Zombie U for £300. Seems reasonable to me, now I've just got to wait for it to arrive!

Deluxe, due to more memory, premium service, and coming in black.

How is it over priced?

Ordered the deluxe system. Nov 18th can not come soon enough. Also the PS3 still sells for 300 and the Wii U is more advanced in every way so how is it overpriced selling it for 300, and 350 with a bunch of extras?

Wait... so the basic Wii U bundle won't have Nintendo Land with it?!? How the heck did I miss THAT detail until now? Seems like a pretty unbalanced deal, if you ask me. Sure, Nintendo Land may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's still an item that more than makes up the additional price of the deluxe bundle single-handedly, not to mention the other stuff that comes with it. No wonder the deluxe bundle is getting all of the attention around these parts... :P

Anyways, I'm still sitting this one out. $350+ is too much for me at the moment, given my lack of interest in the Wii U's library of games, etc. Not to mention that the whole bundle concept has only made me more convinced that by the time I have an interest in the Wii U, the system will, in some way, have a better offer on the table, even if it's only akin to how the other HD consoles have increased the memory of its systems through SKUs over the years. I'm certain that by that time, I'll be able to amass a respectable collection of games at a more affordable price, too.

Can't say when that time will come, though. I had to wait over a year to get the Wii, which was a system I was going nuts about to have. I suspect that this wait will be longer and much easier to manage, unless there is a sudden surge of game releases that instantly demand my attention.

I snatched up a Deluxe Edition Pre-order from Gamestop before they ran out. Felt pretty good about it after it sold out a couple of hours later :D

I just got my pre-order in at Gamestop on Sunday. I didn't realize the Premium bundle had sold out so quickly. The manager said I could just preorder the Basic for now and when I go to pick up the Wii U on launch day to just let them know that I really want the Premium. This way I still have an advantage over the people just waiting in line. I'm officially stoked!

Hey Golevka, I would check often with your store to see when they have more of the Deluxe system to preorder and see if you can switch over to from the basic. When it comes down to it, the store manager is not going to be in charge of who gets what during the launch day, those kind of decisions are going to come from higher up managers such as the regional managers.

I had started saving at the start of the year with the next Nintendo Console in mind. I had expected a next gen console to cost around £400 ($650) in the UK so for it to come in at £300 meant I had some money spare to splash on games.

I'm getting the Deluxe version. It has better value.

The Deluxe is by far the better deal, and I like the idea of having NintendoLand at least at a discounted price (I'm pretty sure it's retailing for $40 not $60, but even then it's not full price). Plus those accesories may come in handy. I've found that the 3DS cradle is incredibly convenient, and I could see a WiiU controller cradle being the same or even more so. Nintendo Network Premium is also a huge value considering I will likely be buying a lot of eShop content as well.

This just gives me the irk that Nintendo Land is not going to showcase WiiU much..not like Wii Sport with Wii. Only time will tell, I guess. :)
