Who are going to buy a DS when Zelda is released?

Most people here already have a DS, this would be a better question to ask in the "I Don't Have A DS Forum" not sure where you'd find that either.

As for it's age the DS is good for the next 3 years at least before a newer model hits the stores, could even be 4 considering how well it's selling worldwide.

I already have a DS... but maybe it'll get me playing it. I haven't bought a game for my DS in 2 years. Which is just wrong. :|Funkyhamster

why would you say it's getting old? it keeps selling well every month, if it continues, then game development will continue.
