Who are YOU voting for to appear in Smash?

Nintendo recently revealed the Smash Bros Fighter Ballot, giving us the chance to suggest which of our favorite characters we want to see on future updates and DLC.

Notably, the ballot is not restricted to characters from Nintendo games. You can suggest anyone from any game, describe why they make a good fit for Smash, and whoever has the highest demand wins. Simple as that. Deadline is October 3rd.

I suggested Snake because I loved the guy in Brawl and Lucas's surprise reveal gave me hope. If not Snake, Simon Belmont. The ballot did not restrict me from voting more than once, which is nice. I'll be voting for Bayonetta as well. I love me some 3rd party reps in Smash. :P

It would be redundant, but I want Roy.

Paper Mario

Bayonetta and/or Paper Mario...Or Daisy.

Rayman, Bomberman, and Crash Bandicoot would be great too.

Seriously though, Bayonetta. Make it happen Sakurai.

I actually voted for Squirtle. I loved playing him in Brawl. Would play as Pokemon Trainer just to use Squirtle.

Bayonetta, Travis Touchdown, Zero, would be among my top choices.

I am so incredibly tired of the Golden Sun series getting shafted -- both by gamers and its own developer (see Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, the nearly abyssmal third game in the series that we waited 7-8 years to get). There is no way I am not voting for Isaac.

And I only know K. Rool from DKC1, so I have no big attachment to him.

Now Isaac! Isaac... can use a sword or axe, special sword/axe unleash attacks, magic (a.k.a. Psynergy), and elemental summons of varying strengths. For those not in the know, he has a huge amount of magic moves that revolve around rock and plants (which is why he's called an Earth/Venus adept). For such a huge number of moves, the fact that Smash 4 has two alternate moves per attack command is an incredible boon!

Time to evangelize for Isaac!

Imagine:

Normal attacks: Sword/Axe (like Link)
Smashes: Weapon unleashes, Djinni-enhanced strikes, or Venus single-Djinni summon
Recovery: Vine tether, Retreat (which would be like Palutena's/Mewtwo's recovery), or one of his hand-based utility Psynergies (could even borrow Grip from GS: Dark Dawn)
Neutral Special: Ragnarok/Odyssey Psynergy, Megiddo (unleash)
Side Special: Spire/Rockfall/Growth Psynergy (whatever intensities fit best)
Down Special: Gaia/Thorn/Quake (whatever intensities fit best)
Roll: Sand Psynergy (turn into sand and "burrow" along the surface)
Grab: Catch Psynergy
Pummel: Tremor Psynergy or sword attacks
Throws: Carry Psynergy
Final Smash: Judgment, Dullahan (bwahahaha), Megiddo (if the latter is unsuitable for a plain old special move)

I doubt that any other character has such varied possible movesets, and Isaac would be incredibly exciting to play as! Plus, he was demoted from an assist trophy in Brawl to nothing in Smash 4, so he needs to be in!

(Amaterasu, from Okami, would be my second pick.)

Honestly, Bayonetta has no place in Smash AT ALL. Reasons?

1. She'd be really watered down. Her brutality and sexual nature being among them. With that, the only fighting game series I can think of that she'd be WAY better off in is Mortal Kombat, a fighter not even from Japan. You really think a character like Bayonetta who's REALLY intended for an M rated crowd is going to fit in with the nature of Smash.

2. Besides Nintendo publishing Bayonetta 2, her history with them STILL lacks, FAR LESS than even Solid Snake.

Say what you will about Snake, at least he was easily reworkable to fit in the SSB universe BESIDES his deeper (by comparison) history with Nintendo consoles. Can't say the same about Bayonetta.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Geno? People go crazy for him to be in Smash!

Actually, if another Xenoblade character made it in there I would pick Melia. She would add some variety and I just really liked her overall.

I know there are enough sword characters but I would love to see Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia. He's a good fit because this was a gamecube game and Namco made it. Namco helped with Smash as well so I was surprised he wasn't already in the game.

I wanted Zero from Megaman Zero

Im voting for Nintendo to buy Skies of Arcadia and give us Vyse, you never know. Ill try to write a plead and pray for a miracle.

But I'd still like Snake back. He seemed like a nice fit in the previous game to me...

I voted Bayonetta, then Inklings, then finally as a favor to Bunchanumbers I voted for Captain Toad even though I think that one makes zero sense.

Later on, I plan on voting for Bayonetta again, Bomberman, and finally Ridley for the lolz.

Wolf O'Donnell - I loved using him in brawl.

Zero (From mega man X), Isaac (Golden Sun), Snake (from MGS, with different outfits to resemble big boss and solid snake), Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia, which was gamecube only game for a long time, until pretty recently being released for Ps3.

And another Xenoblade character besides Shulk, not sure who. And since there's so many cooler armor pieces/outfits you can get for shulk in the game, it'd be cool to get better outfits for him than that basic colony 9 gear he starts with.

Another F-Zero character besides C-Falcon, not sure who, since I'm not that familiar with F-Zero games.

Obviously, I'm not expecting all of these to make it in, and I'm doubting 3rd party characters will even be considered, but even just one or two from this list made it I'll be happy.

TBH, though. I'm actually more interested in stage DLC. Even if it's just 4 packs for Wii U, one with 64, one with Melee, one with Brawl and one with 3DS stages, because it could also mean more music, and a Brawl pack could bring back Pirate Ship, and therefore Dragon Roost Island.

@spike6958: Have you considered Bomberman? If you've got third party there, Bomberman is a classic. His moveset would be what you hate most about Link, turned up to eleven.

I wonder about Cat Mario. Cat Mario was Nintendo's own suggestion in the Direct. Certainly I imagine him having a wall climbing ability (which'd be unique) and a pouncing ability, but what else, Ninty? And frankly, if you're going that route you should just get Cat Peach instead since she's in MK8.

@elheber: Good call with Bomberman, added him to the list. I'm clearly forgetting other characters too now that I look back.

Also Cat Mario could be interesting, they could also do what they did with other characters and have alt. skins so Cat Mario, Cat Peach, Cat Luigi and Cat Toad all as skins for the character, as they have the same ingame moveset anyway. Not convinced enough to add him to the list yet though.

Solid Snake.

I just sent in my vote for Nintendo to buy Skies of Arcadia and put Vyse in Smash Bros.

I also asked if they would not want or could not get Vyse then to give us Nintendo Dogs, Starfy, or a customized personal Amiibo that looks like our own Mii. Lets us make our own Amiibo and get it hand painted.

I voted for Space Pirate from the Metroid Series. A Space Pirate is a far better fit for a fighting game like Smash than Ridley and the Metroid series needs more representation on the game, being a celebration of all things Nintendo. Besides, Space Pirate's moveset potential is huge. I would also love to see Paper Mario and Rayman (Shantae would be great, too), but my vote definitely goes to the Space Pirate.

Waluigi and Ice Climbers

I voted for Toad, Captain Toad, Toadette, then Toad.

My different opinions on some of these characters aside, I vote for...

Pokemon Trainer (based on Ethan from Gold/Silver/Crystal) with Typhlosion, Croconaw, and Chikorita.

Samurai Goroh (would like to see him adapted as a fighter rather than an Assist Trophy)

Viewtiful Joe (my gripes with Capcom aside)

Well... Now I'm annoyed. Microsoft's Phill Spencer has said that he'd have no problems with Nintendo adding Banjo-Kazooie into Super Smash Bros. Adding him, and Conker to the list I made before, but I wish he'd said that prior to me voting.

I voted for Snake and Shovel Knight. I am still deciding whether or not to vote for Inklings. Outside of that, no one I'd personally vote for. Though I do think King K Rool would be a very cool pick.

I would love it if Snake won, and the reveal trailer or whatever had him come of the box (again) and either have him say or the name subtitle pop up say. Kept you waiting, huh? Just YES!!!!!
