I put up the pre-order money. I guess I kinda bought it. Then again, I only put up 50 out of the 250 needed so I guess I didn't really buy it, I just assisted in buying it...:(
When my mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas last year, I said a Wii. She just looked at me and said, "Aren't you too old for video games?" and of course I answered, "I'll never be too old for video games." Apparently she thought that when I graduated from college I'd immediately give up my childhood hobbies. Shyeah, right.
I really didn't expect my parents to actually get me a Wii, though. I thought I'd get a some, you know, useful things that will help me once I get my life a little more established. But they got me one. They found it on jcpenney.com, of all places. I was happy. Not quite N64-kid happy. Not quite Reggie happy. But still happy. And very appreciative.
When you are 21 and have a 3 year old son it is kind of hard to talk your parents into buying you video games, so yeah I had to buy mine on my own. But that is fine with me, I am trying to decide if I want to get RE4 or not, I played it on the GC and never beat it, (I couldnt beat Krauser the second time you fight him), and I never played the ps2 version of it so i am thinking hard about this one.
I actually bought everything for the Wii for myself. How I did it actually, was I used a little bit of money I saved up over the summer, and then I sold my entire Harry Potter LEGO collection on eBay (for almost 600.00!), which allowed me to buy the Wii, an extra Wii Remote, and five games for it. Ahh that was one of the greatest and most stressful days of my life. Stressful, because the Wal-Mart where I lived, actually SOLD THE WIIS HOURS BEFORE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO AT MIDNIGHT, so I couldn't get one. I hate to wait along all night looking for one and then I went to bed from 2:00 - 4:00 and woke up thinking (I don't have a Wii!). And so then I went to a Shopko and my luck, I was person No. 7 of 9 to receive a Wii! :D My friend was there too actually, he was No. 4.
So there I sat in the cold and I brought my DS with me, and played a little Wi-Fi with some other kids aroud me, it was some great fun ... :)
