I think what people are missing here is that the AO rating was just it's initial esrb rating. Manhunt 2 will most likely be rated M. Either they'll have to do some serious pleading with the esrb or the game will suffer a few cuts. It'd be very risky for them to release the game with an AO rating.apboyerI think we know this, but also realize how close to launch the game is. Options are kinda limited for Take-Two at this point. I don't see the game being released by July 10th.
I wanted that game, it looked promising :(
Resident Evil 4 is similar so i'm gonna get that. Scored a 9 on IGN, curious to see what GS will give it. Probably like under 7 cause they hate the Wii and love the Xbox 360 cause Microsoft is probably giving them money to make 360 look better.

but gamespot doesn't care because they really do downrate the wii because they are all graphics whores :D
I can't! My parents will never let me have an AO game ever. Especially my mom it disturbs her and her squeemishness. I was going to give that game a try but now I can't :Dsnowman6251
this is kinda why games get banned, people who aren't old enough to play them get ahold of them one way or another. By enlarge though, it's fine since most kids have enough sense to know not to go killing people in real life
kidrock, it's "by and large", not "by enlarge". Sorry for being a grammar whore, can't help it. Birth defect.
Anyway, no one in the world should have to see the stuff they put in that game. Those that want to... well, you scare me. Sorry.
And no, I'm not some soccer mom, I'm a 16-year old guy. I just don't see the appeal in watching someone rip out a guy's testicles along with his spine with a wrench. Sorry.

The grammar thing is cool. I understand your views on the game, and agree they have gone too far from the sounds of it. As long as it doesn't become a mainstream thing where every other game is this violent I'm okay with it for the most part.

wow, I now know why it receivedthe rating it received. Who would want to see/act out castrating someone? Definitely not me.

Where's Jack Thompson when you need him?
So...haha...APPARENTLY I have not been keeping up with news on Manhunt 2 as much as I thought I had. Castrastion might just be a new trick for a video game, even more so on the Wii. Infact, it's slightly clearer to me why the ESRB gave it an intial rating of AO. I wouldn't be shocked if it ended up coming out as an M rated game though...either by Take-Two making a fuss(by that I mean an appeal), or cutting(no, not THAT cutting) certain parts of the game.
I've been planning on getting it sometime this summer...not the day it was released. I'm 17, so technically, no, can't buy it. Although, I know the guys at the store...and I have a 21 year old brother that would buy it for me if I run into trouble.
As far as finding out where to buy it...last time I checked EBgames/Gamestop carried the new and improved AO-rated San Andreas. Unless they have changed thier tune, then there would be no reason for them not carry this AO game.
I can't say if it deseves such a rating or not, because I haven't played it . I can say that I can't believe the ESRB and the board over in UK would do this if it wasn't deseving of it. Plus, being it released on the Wii, that will, make the game seem way more real for a kid that happens upon the game, so now the ESRB has to watch out for that as well.

No, they carry the new version minus the hot coffee content. The moment it was rerated AO, they pulled it from the shelves, refused to take it for trade, and shipped all the copies on hand back to the warehouse. To this day, they still aren't allowed to take the original version. (Trust me, I managed a GameStop when it happened.)
I would be amazed if this game gets released with an AO rating. I would bet that Manhunt 2 will be resubmitted for a rating after having some edits. This happens to movies that receive an NC-17 rating initially as well (example "South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut").
I reserved my Wii copy already at EB Games! I heard the Ngamer magazine in England gave it a score of 92%!! It's gonna be great!
Doesn't the Wii have a "parental lock" or something, so that if a minor does purchase it, he/she won't be able to play it on their Wii if the parents locked certain age games out?
I wasn't really all that interested in the first one, and to be honest i'm not that interested in this one now.
