Who has more then one version of a current Pokemon title so they can trade back and forth, play the game from both viewpoints, or just get more downloadable content?

I have Diamond but I was afraid that downloading Pokemon (like DARKRAI and DEOXYS) would leave me having to delete wonder cards. So I decided to pick up Pearl that way I can get downloadable content on that one and just switch over the Pokemon to Diamond. That way I don't have to delete any wonder cards. (as it turned out I didn't have to delete any wonder cards on Diamond to get the Deoxys but you never know what the future will bring lol)

I'll play the Pearl all the way through as well just to see it from another angle, and it'll give me more trade opportunities.

So who else has picked up both versions of a Pokemon game for themselves?

I have. I haven't done it yet with Diamond and Pearl yet though. I've just got Diamond. In the past I've had Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

Ummmm, I'm past my teens and I play them, I also play the games with my Mom and she's out of her teens as well

AS SEEN HERE

So I guess everyone plays it? (hence the whole "millions upon millions" sold for each version)

Dude I'm 26 and I still play pokemon. They're good games. You shouldn't get so hung up on the fact that little kids play it. I also knew plenty of soldiers when I was overseas in Iraq that played pokemon. It's a good game that's lasts a long time for 40 bucks. That's why I like it.

pokemon by all means is great, i was so excited for diamond but nver got it, i played my bros pearl after he beat it, i caught him giratina, uxie, azelf, palkia, heatran, and he only caught cresselia, for legendaries of course....... i also beat elite 4 for him.....

anyway i had all poke games but red-they are all fun but i will never play one again after i got bored and needed money i sold my fire red which held 3 self trained lv 100, blaziken, groudon, rayquaza, my groudon was my pride and joy, it would seem wasteful to me to continue after that, i still remember how many pokemans i had, 257........damn i loved that game, i had a allstar team

groudon,rayquaza,mewtwo,lugia,ho-oh,kyogre

damn i miss them and i went to boston for lugia and ho-oh to.....

i would play one again if i got a preloaded game filled with everyone, all the pokes, then i would love it again.

o has anyone heard of platinum version, check out serebii.net for details, barley any but its comeing!!!!!!

I've owned at least two game from every generation thus far. I've always bought one of the first two releases and then the special edition that comes out afterwards. Not sure if I'll be doing that this time around though, D/P didn't hold my attention as long as games like Advance Wars. Still great fun, though

Agreed completely. Although I do have Blue and Yellow, my excuse was that I was a kid, and both seemed completely different, also, my sister had Red, but lost it. As for G/S/C, I own all three(True....) I got Gold, my sis got Silver, and years later, I found a cheap copy of Crystal, and since I had to buy something, and there wasn't any other thing, I bought Crystal, never finished it(And m ysis gave me Silver). From them onwards, I just got 1 version, and will keep like that

My brother and I always get different versions of the Pokemon games - I had Red, Gold, Sapphire, Fire Red, and Pearl and he had Crystal, Ruby, and Diamond. I always say we're going to share data and junk, but we're both extremely competitive and so any chance of one of us helping the other is small. I never gave him any Pearl exclusives because I had to be the first one to complete the entire dex. ...question... Do you own two DSs or is it the other one shared?

I had a DS then I lent it to my Mom and she liked it so much I let her keep my original one and just got another one for myself.

So I'll have plenty of chances when I run into her to swap some of my guys between cards

My parents bought me R/B and G/S, but once I started paying for my own games, I only bought one of the first two in a generation and then the 3rd one. For example: I bought Ruby and Emerald. I bought Pearl and plan on buying Platinum. Never all 3.

I've purchased both versions since Ruby/Saphire (even picked up Emerald) and that's exactly the reason why, to not have to worry about finding someone to trade with. I trade all my Pokemon over so they are boosted and used to have 2 Gameboy SP's just for this reason. I only have 1 DS, but live with my girlfriend which is who I trade with (I got her a DS). I have Diamond/Pearl, she has Diamond.

When I bought my GBA and found out It could still use the Gameboy link cable, I started trading back and forth between my Red,Blue,Yellow,Gold,Silver, and Crystal. As for the newer games, I have Ruby, FireRed, and Diamond and my sister has Sapphire, LeafGreen, and Pearl.

I had Red, Blue and Yellow - but I recall that only red and blue were necessary to get all 151 Pokemons. I remember clocking in over 60 hours on my red version right after I had 151. I haven't played pokemon since, but thinking back about it makes want to...

A wonder card is a card that downloads to the DS that shows what event you got the certain Pokemon.

Like for the Manaphy event mine says "This MANAPHY is a gift to you in celebration of the movie Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea." Then on the other side of the card it says Diamond and Pearl MANAPHY event, has the date in the lower portion of the card, and a little pic of Manaphy in the top corner.

But with the GTS you don't have to get both versions. I traded some Pokemon for starters and bred them when I began my game.

I had Pearl, beat it, and then gave it to my gf. Now she wants the exclusives in Diamond, so she bought Diamond for me, so now I have to beat it again!

I already started a new game four times just to give her the other starting two Pokemon! Doing that REALLY made me wish that you could skip cutscenes in the games.

What a waste of money to buy both, i bought pearl, i like Palkia.

There are not many exclusives in each game, so it's not worth buying both...
