Geometry Wars, DBZ, Puzzle Quest, Zack and Wiki, Medal of Honor, No More Heroes, Final Fantasy, need I go on?
these are all games that are yet to come out. You have no idea if theyre going to be good or bad so you cant yet use them as a selling point for the wii.
if we're going to judge the wii on its nearly 1 year old library, i have to agree that it is disappointing. The release schedules have also been really infuriating. That Reggie guy talks so much BS, claiming mario, metroid and SSBM would all be launch titles. LOL!
I find myself playing more DS at home than Wii :(
Well the Wii has only been out a year. Good games worth buying don't come out until a year or two after a console is out on the market and developers get used to the system and start taking full advantage of it. I think a lot of people have forgotten this.
I agree, at least to an extent. Obviously there a tons of good first-party games. (Mario, Zelda, Brawl, Metroid, others coming.) Outside of that, RE4, and a few others. I agreee that I am a bit disappointed, but remember, it's early in the Wii's life cycle.ihamlin35
I'm more interested in the 3rd party titles than I am 1st party TBH.
Out of my wishlist, SMG is pretty much the only title that is 1st party:
Geometry Wars
King of Fighters anthology
Metal Slug Anthology
Mercury Meltdown Revolution
NiGHTS
Soulcalibur Legends
Zach and Wiki
Raving Rabbids
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Ghost Squad
ExciteTruck
Cruis'n (maybe)
Super Mario Galaxy

I also find myself playing my ds more than my wii also, but is that necessarily a bad thing?
Am I a little dissapointed with the current lineup(as of today, not counting future relases), sure its not the best thing ever, definetly not the worst.
But the lineup coming in the next 20-40 days is enough to warrant my Wii purchase through next year. I can find about 15 games I want in the next 20-40 days. And 2008 is shaping up rather nicely so far, a few more killer games and im sold.
[QUOTE="dieworm"]Metroid Prime 3.[QUOTE="Coleman85"]Its not like anything other than Twighlight Princess was a killer app.Coleman85

Metroid was good as much as I like the controls it wasnt leaps and bounds better than the gamecube ones.
It also proved that an FPS could be done right on the Wii opening up new doors for games to come.

No, just no.
One could say the same thing about the DS right now, but were you around less than a year after its launch? Sheesh! It was worse than Wii.im so dissapointed in the lack of games i couldnt handle it after a few months.
so, i Bought 360 a few days ago. thats a system thatll NEVER run out of QUALITY games RE4 and MP3 wernt enough to keep me busy, sorry nintendo

SO? It's still freaking amazing. Was Halo 3 "leaps and bounds better" than Halo 2? No. But does that mean it's not a killer app? Jesus dude.[QUOTE="Coleman85"][QUOTE="dieworm"]Metroid Prime 3.[QUOTE="Coleman85"]Its not like anything other than Twighlight Princess was a killer app.dieworm

I love nintendo know one can accuse me of not being a nintendo fanboy, But who here is just a little dissapointed in the lack of games for the Wii right now. It is looking a little better but come on by now I thought we would at least have more than 5-10 (depending on your preference) good quality games. Its not like anything other than Twighlight Princess was a killer app. and even that would be questionable. Lets be honest people. Thoughts ?Coleman85
You must be a 360 owner.

Not going to lie to you but your right. 360 got the best lineup of games already out and coming out. Just look at it. Puts Sony and nintendo to shame.

I will admit i kinda want one. But no I do not own a 360 or ps3. I have a full time job and go to school full time so I just dont see me investing that kind of money into something I may not get my moneys worth out of . Thats why I have a Wii in the first place it seems to be the most sense for me at this time.

I was just saying that because most of the topics on here like this end up with people that own 360s. Once you play a 360 you start demanding a little too much out of your games for the Wii. Better online play, hard drive, Demo downloader, better graphics and more games. If you look at the 360s game ratings there very high.
Most topics are sometimes about adding a hard drive to the wii or better graphics to the games(jumping from ps2 ports) and a demo downloader.
o it also sells for almost the same price point as the Wii for $279.99.
Yeah it hasn't lived up to my expectations. I really got caught by the hype. I was camping out in front of my GameStop for months waiting for the Wii shipment. Finally got mine in March and so far, Ive played no games that I enjoy. Red Steel, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Wario Ware..... all of them were pretty bad. MP3 had the most potential but that 3d map was driving me out of my skulll. (2d super metroid map.... I love you so much)
So as of now the Wii is pretty much a GameCube and currently playing Battalion Wars, a game I missed out on when it was released.
Also holiday lineup not looking to hot, Mario Galaxy and No More Hero's and that is it. Also the port train is still going strong, as long as people keep picking up these port's were going to have a hundred more Okami's on are hands. (might be good for some but I own a xbox, GC, and PS2.... ports mean nothing to me.)
I'll just have to wait and see what Nintendo and company will offer this time next year. But as of now only Paper Mario, Galaxy and No More Hero's is on my radar for the Wii.
If it weren't for the lower price point and marketing towards the casual gamer and families, the Wii would not be ahead in sales. The only games that seem to sell are party games etc. It's almost as if Nintendo has forgotten the core gamers that kept them alive during the Cube years.
Nintendo's release schedule has been abysmal down here in Australia, much worse than the otehr 2 consoles. My brother and I have gone shopping for games every month for about 4 months, with the only game warranting a purchase Seper Paper Mario.
Metroid Prime 3 isn't even out here yet. I hope they start to pick up their game before Christmas. I'm buying a PS3 anyway, they at least have 2 or 3 critically acclaimed games released a month, as does the X360.
Not if you prefer games with, like, color. Honestly, I'm an action/adventure, platformer, niche fan. The 360's not doing a good job of filling my preferences so quit tooting its horn. Not going to lie to you but your right. 360 got the best lineup of games already out and coming out. Just look at it. I'm sick of all the good games for wii being ports from the ps2. We get it all ready! Make something new for once. It's really tiresome. Oh, and Zelda's dumb. Not all of them, just the new one. I got to the water temple, blew the entrance open, and said "wow, this game is dumb. I've had enough of this FOREVER!" The Wii's got so much potential to have some killer software, but I'm tired of that software coming in first party form. I was psyched about Zelda, but what a flop that was (yeah, I know everyone disagrees with me, ya wanna fight about it?)! I honestly get way more enjoyment out of my 360. I really haven't played my Wii since I got it on release. That's how dissappointing it is.kollin_1That's a really stupid reason to stop playing. :|

Yeah for the crappy core. You know why it's been cancelled at Best Buy and GameStop, and why it's not selling? It sucks.
Yeah lets hope we see some good games come out from someone other than nintendo and capcom. Coleman85

Man i agree with you a hundred percent. am i the only one that feels a little ignroed by nintendo? i mean they got no more heroes in japan already and probably far ahead of us on software updates. for right now ya i am dissapointed with the wii hopefully it picks up next year.
No. I gotTOO many games I want.Duckman5
same.... i`m trying to figure out how to get the money to buy all the games i want...
*starts thinking on which friends to sell*

Lol, I remember. I had gotten a DS for the christmas of the year it came out. There weren't any good games out besides SM64 until MK DS came out which ushered in quality games onto the system.
i'm playing Prime 3, and it's just getting boring. so boring. but, maybe that's because i played through halo 3 first... and that game has a fast paced, tight-killing control scheme. i mean, i can barely stomach an hour of MP3 but i've wasted 4 in a row on halo, not even owning an xbox.
there was super paper mario too, interesting game. not fun. it was 1/2 platformer, 1/2 rpg, neither element seemed complete in or seperate from the other. at least i could finish it because it had a compelling story (making up for the bland art style, especially if compared to the GC paper mario).
wii sports? pleez. i never even took the time to go pro.
so yeah, i think i just talked myself out of buying Mario Galaxy. next games i plan on playing are Brawl, Civ Revo, and AW:DR. disapointed? nah. just never excited.
