Still on my first round of the Wii Edition, even after beating the GC version several times.
There are 5-5 chapters. There's an excellent game guide on this very site if you wish to know more.
I quit, i'm at the part where...
Leon and Ashley meet up with Luis in the cabin.
It's too hard, and i have no patience for it. bluezy
That's probably the hardest part in the game. Trust me, though, it's worth it to get past that place.

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i ran upstairs right away and blasted the guys as they came up the stairs, then when they start coming through the windows i trapped myself in a corner and shot until i won. Hope it helps! :D

Really? I thought it was pretty easy
I quit, i'm at the part where...
Leon and Ashley meet up with Luis in the cabin.
It's too hard, and i have no patience for it. DrummerDude1010

That is exactly what I did, I found that part very easy. The hardest part for me was in the very beginning, when you went to the village with the guy skewered above the fire, and had to kill all those people.
Well, I haven't played the game in a few weeks, and I haven't beaten it. I just don't find it that great of a game. :o, I know.
I found the cabin easy, even on my first attempt back on the gamecube, I just....
block off all the bottom-floor windows with the cabinets near them, prepare my shotgun and keep at it with the headshots while campin on the staircase, then make my way upstairs when it gets overrun. From there, check the upstairs windows and knock down any ladders, and let Luis handle the guys downstairs still if he hasn't made up his mind whether or not to head up. THen you just pick a spot and keep at it until they go away, and keep those grenades handy for when the not-zombies pile up on the staircase, makes for some easy group kills.
Anyways, still playing RE4:Wii here, first round, only ever having beaten it before once on the GC. Bit easier this time around due to the controls (makes the shooting gallery a breeze to win, popping high-scores just using the pistol) and the fact I got my strats to kill all the rougher guys in the games (had a hell of a time with the deaf Wolverine-dudes my first playthrough), but it's still fun as hell, and looking forward to the extras that were PS2-exclusive once I beat it.
I'm finishing up on getting the unlockables, but I finshed the main game months ago.bigcalkenobi
Edit: weeks ago, not months
RE4 may just have some of the greatest replay value in gaming history, and it seems most people here agree. What would be really nice is if you could unlock some kind of "jump to a chapter" feature, while retaining all your current items. But I guess that's what having 20 save files is for. :)
I put it down for a while. I've beaten it on the cube, and for the Wii (normal and pro) and finished the extra missions except mercs on both. I've unlocked Ada on mercs, but didn't get into it too much. I'll go back later and finish it out. I've been using the PRL to go through pro again and it's amazingly simple. I've racked up dough by selling almost everything and have the CT and the IRL as backup in my case.
In fact, I'm blazing through so fast that I might beat my time in Seperate Ways. I half way wish that I could use my big guns in mercs. It would certainly make getting 5 stars a lot easier. Maybe eves just with Leon and Ada. I'll get five stars eventually. I just need to take the time to do it.
I'm almost close to the end. I have the Red 9 leveled up to 'Exclusive' (fire power 6.5?). Plus I sold my leveled up Broken Butterfly (which I thought was the powerfullest magnum) for the Killer 7 (a starting fp of 25!!!). I didn't even know that gun was in the game....I like how they named it after another Capcom game. Was that gun in Killer 7?Tri-Enforcer
The Broken Butterfly has an exclusive upgrade that puts its firepower at 50. Well above the killer 7's top. Also, I think Killer 7 has little to nothing to do with the gun in RE4. I could be totally off base, but if it was supposed to be a reference why not make it the exclusive magnum instead of the handcannon?
Nobody really talks about the Killer 7 because the Broken Butterfly is by FAR the better of the two. It's free! It's powerful! It's available earlier! Like the riot gun, the Killer 7 can be completely skipped over without skipping a beat in difficulty.

Dang it. If I would've known the Broken Butterfly had an exclusive that puts it at 50 I would never have sold it. Hold up, if the Killer 7's firpower starts off at 25....you mean to tell after you level it up...it never gets to 50 or have an exclusive that puts it over 50?
Killer 7 never hits 50...
It maxs out at 35 and has no exclusive upgrade. The advantages of the Killer 7 are that it has a maxed capacity of two more shells, but the price doesn't offset the fact that you can get an extra two shells for free. It also has a faster reload speed, but since you're pretty much guaranteed to take out (or at least stun) any enemy that you face with the massive 50 firepower, it's kind of useless.
Check it out for yourself if you'd like. Gamespot has a full game guide from the cube days. Some of the particular stats aren't up to the Wii version, but the info holds mostly true. The biggest things of note are that the Wii maxes out their guns at a bit higher firepower.
