My vote goes to Link. He just generally works harder than Mario who mostly just runs and jumps. That and Zelda games are way better.

Sorry guys I'd have to say Samus is probably the smartest nintendo hero...heroine... But Mario is the companies mascot and Linkis just plain awsome. Orcarina of Time is Perfect not to mention most of Links games are better than Mario's so I'd have to go with Link! Sorry guys XD.

I'm going to have to give the greatest Nintendo hero to practically every Fire Emblem character out there, now those peeps had a personalities, knew their strengths and didn't try to do anything stupid like take on a giant army all by their lonesome selves.
