Otherwise I'm convinced on Little Mac actually being playable.

I never thought of Team Rocket, but that is a fantastic idea. I think this is a list of characters I would like to see as playable.

1. Dark Samus (or alternatively, Ridley, or one of the Hunters).

2. King K. Rool

3. Funky Kong (a final smash with his airplane would be hilarious)

4. Megaman

5. Bomberman

6. Team Rocket

Who from team rocket, though? Jesse and James? bleh... other than comedy relief, I fail to see how relevant or fun they'd be to play as. Little Mac could work, except for the fact that there's not that much special about him. And if you've ever busted him out of an assist trophy, you'd see he's rather puny in size compared to even pikachu in the game. Midna might work, but I also forsee Nintendo forcing the shape-shift thing with this one, leaving her another zelda/sheik clone. Other than padding up/out the roster, not much reason there. If they're going to bring in more third-party characters, I would have a nerd-gasm at them bringing in Travis Touchdown. He'd be such an awesome fit for the game. :Dcodezer0

Why couldn't they make Little Mac bigger like they did with Olimar? In the game they said Olimar is like only an inch or something.

Wolf Link with Midna as a character. Bring back Mewtwo. Another Pokemon trainer, Leaf/Blue. Or better yet, why not Green, Red's rival? He could have his Eevee, and two starters from the more recent generations. Also, bring in a friend for Captain Falcon, and drop Wolf and give us Krystal with the staff so the Star Fox characters play differently. I get the subtle stun changes with Wolf, but that's not enough for my tastes. Also would love a Paper Mario character. Give Luigi his vaccuum and have it shoot different elemental blasts depending on where he is standing (water on clouds, Fire if on land, ice if near the edge of the stage). Also, condense Ridley's size like they do with Bowser and add him.

YES! YES! YES! Before SSBB came out, I kept hoping that Pious Augustus would be in the game.

And now to answer TC's question: Out of all those choices, Little Mac, I think, is the best option by far. Midna may work, but compared to Little Mac, there's no contest. A fair amount of the assist trophies, I feel, should have been worked in as playable characters. Ray MK III, for example, I thought was a lock to be playable in Brawl, but obviously he got demoted to assist trophy. Isaac and Tingle also would have worked well as playable characters.

Little Mac (Punch Out!), Saki Amamiya (Sin & Punishment), Isa Jo (Sin & Punishment: Star Successor), Isaac (Golden Sun), and John Raimi (Geist).

You don't need both Saki or Isa because they are different generations since Isa is Saki's son.

I would also like Ridley and K. Rool.
