[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]Rare killed the franchise
It's going to take some time to let Donkey Kong have his own game again.

Rare didnt kill it, it got killed when rare left. If that is what you mean then you worded it wrong.
No, Rare killed the franchise
As in, Rare did such an awful job with the games that Donkey Kong died.
When Rare started Donkey Kong had almost 10 million buyers who would buy the games sight unseen
When they were done destroying the franchise that number peaked at just over 5. (because they hoped Rare would make something worth playing with the new hardware)
If we count just the SNES Rare took 9.3 million Donkey Kong fans and got rid of almost 6 million of them.

Yeah, they killed the franchise by making a critically acclaimed game that sold 5 million copies. You are making tons of sense.

Everyone loved it so much they didn't buy it, only sold half of what the first one on the SNES did.
Rare did poorly and because of their troubles creating games for the character Nintendo had to save him by making him the main character in different spinoffs.
Unless you'd like to debate that 5.27 million is somehow more then 9.3 million
Rare didn't kill the franchise. They did quite the opposite. The DKC series as well as DK64 are some of the greatest games of all time. Nintendo killed the franchise by making that pile of digestive waste known as Jungle Beat.
A new Donkey Kong platformer for Wii would be awesome.
I don't really like donkey kong. The series has been too childish since donkey kong country 2.doctores143
For the record, DKC2 is mad hard in the later levels. I finally gave up on the last level. Oh well...
But yes, bring Donkey Kong onto the Wii, and I'm sold.

For as long as I have been here on the Wii boards, I have seen Jason as not making any sense. i got used to it.
Jasonguy hates popular games. Just ignore him.
As for Donkey Kong, what do you think Nintendo would have done with him if Rare didn't make the Donkey Kong Country games? Most likely we'd still be playing some version of the original Donkey Kong and it would have REALLY died.
Now that Nintendo has control of the character again, its killing it with this stupid spin offs that no one could take seriously.
