So Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 is coming out for the Wii as you know for any one that has played any BiA games there is loads of swearing and blood even some blown of arms and legs and even a couple of heads!! does any one think "kid friendly" Nintendo will cut some of the swearing out? Maby not the gore because we got resident evil over there but still?

Who is with me on this?

Uh, games like No More Heroes didn't have anything cut off by Nintendo. It's the games made by Nintendo themselves that you'll never see having swearing or overthetop violence.

Nobody is with you on this you are all alone in a cold dark place, Nintendo will not step in and alter 3rd party games anymore because they learned their lesson years ago with the seal of quality and a lot of pissed of developers going to Sony or before them Sega. It may be edited in the UK however but that is due to the BBFC and our whole nanny culture.

are you suggesting kids should play this game? i do not think it was intened for younger kids nor should it be kid friendly. it is ridiculious thinking kids should be like adults in terms of content viewed. keep it for mature members, no need to make it kid friendly.

Nintendo won't cut anything on that game. It's a 3rd party game. If there's a cut, blame the 3rd party not NIntendo. By the way, shooters are becoming the most overrated genre ever made.

Nintendo won't nor do they have any power to do so, the best they can do is refuse to license the game, they can't actually alter a game they didn't make :?

Nothing is going to be cut out, but they will jack the rating up to a higher age for blood and language.

nintendo are only allowed to say if it goes on the console or not
if they deem it in appropriate they will say, but that wouldn't really happen. They don't tend to do that for gore or swearing, only really it would be if it's a sex sim
it would be the ERSB who would do that, not nintendo

last summer, a little known game called manhunt 2 shocked the world with its violence. while it was cut slighty, it was still gory. was it a good game? no, but i think it stands as a statue with its arm and finger (a la Phoenix Wright) pointing towards the direction in which mature games should seek sanctuary...oddly enough it pointing to the wii! lol

Does Nintendo reserve the right to edit games that receive less than an AO-rating and that they don't develop or publish themselves?

I didn't exactly mean that. I meant that if there was something more brutal, they (as in the corporations who moderate) will raise the limits.

But Nintendo doesn't really have the control over the content.

Though certain developers and publishers have themselves decided it necessary to censor their games, Nintendo has not censored a third-party title in a long time (save for AO rated games, which no console maker will allow). Heck, they even permitted that filth called BMXXX onto the GCN unedited! (something Sony wouldn't even do)

Edit? No. They can refuse to license a game which basically means that you won't be able to buy it, but they can't say "okay, change X, Y, and Z" and then have the developers bound to abide by that.

Anyways, as many others have said, if they allowed No More Heroes in all its crimson, profanity-laden glory, I somehow doubt they care too much about blood and profanity in third-party games.

Nintendo could edit the game but Nintendo stopped editing 3rd Party games after Mortal Kombat, also in Mortal Kombat on the SNES it was completely censored because one of the Fatalities is when Kano would rip out a Heart the guy reaches for the Heart but when he holds up the heart nothing is in his hand.

You sure? I mean, even if Nintendo refused to license it they could still sell it right? Or is it that they need a special code in order for it to wok on Wiis that they get from licensing, which I doubt.

I'm not certain how it works, but obviously Nintendo would never allow an unlicenced game onto their system. They wouldn't be able to collect their portion of the profits if they did. (why do you think console games cost more than their PC counterparts?)

When Rare released Conker's Bad Fur Day, a game full of cursing and blood, they didn't cut anything. However, when Rare brought the game to the XBOX, MS had them take most oart of the offensive content out of the game. What I mean is that Nintendo is not so concerned about that when it comes to games that will be M-rated, they are worried about the chance of it happening online when there is a kid playing a game like Mario Kart.
