It's somewhere between PC and consoles, there is a lot to be said about the feel of actually Pointing and shooting, feeling the vibration of the gun as you shoot it.
The only down side is that your arm actually gets a bit tired after a few hours, but that just reminds you to eat and drink something..
one eensy teensy little problem with your topic there bud. There are none. MP 3 is considered a first person ADVENTURE, Red Steel sux some serious balls and RE UC is an on rails shooter. Dudeman480
Medal of Honor 2? Wii Zapper? Enough said.

medal of honor 2 only has the online thing going for it...graphics are an epic failure...
if metroid prime 3 can create astounding look/environment, why couldn't EA?
and don't tell me there isn't enough dvd space because all the dvd space were occupied by the online networking code...i'm a software developer, i know what i'm talking about

Conduit's got tons of work to do...their tech demo of their engine could've been done on the gamecube...the reason people are going "ooooh" on it is because the wii doesn't have that many games that try to push it graphically (without trying to be cute).
from what i know, wii has a different way of handling shaders. they're not really shaders like what developers would do in xbox360 (or ps3, i would assume), instead, developers are given layers where each layer can have effects/texture type/unit. kinda like multi-texturing, but cooler.
No- I find it too imprecise.
I've found that the best examples are a bit...lacking. MP3 has lock-on (not acceptable in terms of FPS) and MoH2 has a targeting rectile thats about a quarter of the screen. Plus, I don't like losing control because I've moved the remote too far to one side to turn.
PC > Wii > 360 > PS3
When it comes to FPS controls.

I totally agree with that. But for a Wii FPS to be good there really needs to be online play. It's basically impossible for more than one person to be aiming at the tv and still be accurate, so online is the only way to include multiplayer. I'm thinking a Metroid Prime 3 type game that's less adventure and more FPS with MoH2 equivalent online play.
PC is King of FPS gaming, no console can better it, and Wii will never be able to, it may improve, but not best the FPS genre.ImSwordManopinion
i have yet to play any other FPS other than Red Steel (which sucks ass) but i still think its the best

i didnt mean Red Steel was the best. I meant I think the Wii is best for FPSWell I will go for "PC>Wii>Analog" but I have to admit that I actually find playing FPS on Wii more fun than playing on PC. Yes it's damn more fun and involving to point something real to tv and make a sudden move to do a melee(COD3) or use Nunchuck to rip you enemies shields while fighting(Mp3) or just for Uzi madness (Red Steel). I played Red Steel, MP3 and COD3 and They were incredible experiences. I'm looking forward to more FPS games on Wii. Even the average FPS' are fun on the Wii thanks to the Wiimote.
Also I find Red Steel very very enjoyable. It's not the most quality game out there and it has a stupid AI and glitches and bad graphics and vs vs however I won't change using uzi and pistols in Red Steel to anything because it's damn fun. That game made me realise that how the "fun" factor can change a game from crap to fun playing. That is not something to be achived with pretty graphics.
I love FPS on Wii.
Please post your comments here because I think that although the graphics may not be superb the gameplay itself is greatOldFirm
Yeah I think It's good for shooters but sadly there aren't many good ones, maybe medal of honor heroes still I'm noot a fan of the genre
There is one draw back to the Wii scheme as Vampy hit on. Precision. On the Nintendo the sensor bar is what you are aiming at.. As anyone know.. sit too close to the tv and what you are aiming at on the screen is not where the cursor is. Granted it is more fun for me to use the remote but that is a big drawback. Where the cross hairs are is not where you are aiming. This is why there are no sights on any of these guns. Duck hunt back in the day used actual sights. Get too close to the TV and the more you are off.
So instead of true aiming you are just moving the aiming sights on the TV with the remote. You would have to be at the perfect distance to get it so what you are aiming the remote at is where the cursor is.
I would love to play a game where you can use sights on the gun like Duck Hunt.
