MUAH.. I don't use the stand I cant chance that thing tipping over .. my wii is on top my tv, on top my 360, and he stays pretty cool either way until I get SSBB they maybe Ill use it
I used the stand until a friend tripped over a GC controller wire, almost breaking the Wii(the Wii was very high on a TV stand). I don't want that to happen again. If it is on its side there is much less of a chance that it will fall over.
In my opinion, the stand is VERY important if the Wii is going to stand vertically. It adds stability, which is a huge factor to consider if you're going to use Gamecube controllers. For example, if you have your Wii standing vertically without its stand, play with a Gamecube controller and get too excited or stumble over the wire, it may lead to a broken Wii. There are other things to consider, depending on your case. For example, my cat likes to hang around the TV area and nap right on top of the TV set. If she happens to trip over the Wii without its stand, there's a big chance of something bad happening to the Wii. She's always very careful, as most cats are, but without the stand, even a slight bump can make the Wii fall. If you want the Wii to lay horizontally, that's great, but the stand is pretty much essential if you want it to stand vertically.
I bought a recharge station that comes with a Wii stand, it's pretty sweet. It's a white Wii stand with blue LED light around the edges and next to it is the charge stand with 2 slots for Wii remotes to charge on and also have blue LED around the slots. It came with 4 rechargable batteries and Wii-mote covers you put them in and put on the Wii-mote. You just plug it into the Wii's USB and it can recharge 2 remotes or 1 remote and 2 batteries, and the time to charge fully is only 5 hours or less, so it's a pretty sweet deal.
i do and my wii is in pefect condition cuz of it ,my friend lost his and his wii is destroyed it still plays but like it looks horrible compared to mine
