I'd love to see Metroid WiiU. If it's a FPA like Prime, then it MUST have Wiimote controls. If it's traditional side scrolling then the Gamepad could be great. So, FPA must have Wiimote Controls. Side Scroller is fine with Gamepad. Any other way would just do the series an injustice. Metroid deserves the best and Dual Analogs for a FPA metroid would be a huge setback.nini200I agree that if it is FP, it should be Wii Pointer, but... I was thinking that the 'raise the WiiU tablet to the tv to see through the visor' concept - if tastefully done - would be a great idea.
This seems like a really weird idea for it, but it could work.
On the TV screen is FPS Metroid using the thumbstick controls, but in some parts of the game, you can use sidescrolling as well which will be seen on the gamepad in the traditional view that we've seen on the SNES, NES etc.
This could be used for Paper Mario like puzzles or even just to navigate around the map without needing the first person view.

That method would work great for the TP/FP camera that they did for Other M. Use the Gamepad to run around like normal but point it when you wanna do FP.
Pretty sure that's what Retro's doing, there have been hints dropped that that's the case. Either that or they're working on a really great surprise, so either way can't wait till e3!
I would be thrilled if Retro was working on Metroid. I just hope Nintendo doesn't shelve the series for 8 years again due to Other M's disappointing sales.

I got the game brand new from Newegg for $9 not long after release so sales must have been pretty low.
Other M's really a good game. Â It was just different, so people went ape. Â It was far from Prime but it's not comparable to Prime either...

Of course the game could have been a LOT better, but it was still good. Not good considering, not good in its own way, good period.
The biggest issue is using the d-pad to control samus, but that was unavoidable given the style of the game.
Had the game used the Wii Mote and nun-chuck combo, you would be going into first person mode all the time accidentally and it would've been a broken game.
I still have to play Other M, so I don't care frankly.Rod90I hope you can overcome the criticism around Other M whenever you play it. It is a great title and, IMO, it expands in so many directions, story and gameplay mechanics, that it proves itself as a fine addition. Regards.
Wont be at E3 this year. Gotta have major games coming out THROUGH OUT the Wii U's life span we dont want a repeat of the Wii where it got nothing its last 2 years but Skyward Sword...Metroid will be at next years E3.

What people dont get is while the Primes were AMAZING, the team at Retro Studios that made them isnt fully there anymore, the lead level designer works at 343i now and made Halo 4. So a Metroid from Retro nowadays wont be ANYTHING like the Prime games.
But Retro is making Starfox anyway so its all good lol.
