probably Pit. Pit is the character I've vowed to become good with first, then I'll move to others(though the first day of me playing will consist of testing each character)
I want to use Tingle if he's available, although I'll probably use Mario at first, as I like using the standard characters first in a game, till I get ued to it.
Hmm, though choice, maybe a dude or dudette with some kind of sword (link)... or a futuristic character (Fox), I can't decide. I'm sure we will see characters we never expected to see in the game. I'll have to see which one will suite me best. But one character I would like to play is Megaman X, I love the MM X series. Hey! a guy can dream right :P
I'll use every character at random like I do in Melee, but for my first, I'll use Kirby for one reason, and one reason only; to eat Snake (assuming he's playable at the start) and watch Kirby whip out Snake's special move. If he's not playable at the start, then I'll go with Wario, andtry outhis "form of martial arts that other characters cannot even see."

From who I know of right now, I'd play Zelda first to see how much she's changed (she was my fave in Melee). Then I'd go to a new character like Meta Knight or Pit, for of course, the new material.
