No. What if a sibling gets ahold of your game? Maybe they'd never save it and turn it off or you could catch them before they save. But if it autosaved over your file you would be screwed.

Perhaps a save prompt would be a solution to both problems. While I was playing Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood Tales would pop up before a major event took place and ask me if I wanted to save my game. Seems like a good feature for roleplaying games.

Well since I've played Pokemon for a long time, Saving is second nature, but I would reccommend that you save often even if you have no intention of turning the game off, you have no idea what could happen to the DS.

I saved very often when I got the first DS, since I often confused the power button for the start button (Yes it is very silly)

Same here I save everytime I enter a new area and everytime I visit the Pokemon center since you don't know what will happen. I save like that for every game I play you never know when the Battery will die or if your playing on consoles when the power will go out.

Is it good for your mental health to be so worried about saving all the time?

Would you rather lose all your progress and have to play again, constant saving is simply a precaution.

In my area every time it rains a lot the Power goes out sometimes it goes out when their is nothing going on outside that happens once a month. But recently the power has been going out once a week.

No, that's just pure laziness if you're not going to save on your own.

Yeah, you'll forget in the "Pokemon craze" but that's not an excuse. Save every hour or so and that's that.

I confused the Volume Switch with the On/Offf Siwtch way too many times.

As for a pokemon autosave? Nah. I see no need for it -- but I've been playing since Red/Blue and saving is just a natural thing -- it's not like it's an action game, you can really just stop and save at any point you want. Sorry to hear about your game though -- maybe a prompt whenever you get a badge or a key item should come up, but I feel that it would really have to be not very often to not annoy me ....

Maybe some option at the start of the game or something, "Would you like to be reminded about saving?" or something like that might do good, so those who remember or forget can choose whether to be reminded or not.

Multiple save files and a quick-save menu would prevent this. Another thing the series has been lagging behind with.
