I've still got mine. It's ugly, and it's a bit scuffed up on the back, there are two stuck pixels and the battery only lasts about three hours, but it still works.
I am on my third one. My first one died 2 days after I got it so I took it back and the one I exchanged it for didn't even work at all. My third one has very little battery life and the lower screen died two days after the 90 day warranty was up. Basically it is a worthless piece of junk but it looks good on my desk. I use it for a paper weight (no kidding). After these problems I have not been motivated to buy another one especially the new ones they churn out ever year or two it seems.
I'm using my red Mario Kart original DS. I hate the screens but I like the Dpad way better and the system feels more durable. Was playing Super Mario 64 on my wife's Lite and then played it on the original and the game controller so much better on the original. I think my battery life is starting to go though- at least it can fixed.
I've had mine since launch and it's still in perfect working condition. The body of the DS is a little scratched up, but the screens are still in excellent condition. DSi for me next.
I've stuck with my phat since launch and I don't plan on upgrading to anything else anytime soon. The battery life is the only thing not up to par, but it's still decent and everything else is in good condition. The DSi can come and go as it pleases because within another two or three years Nintendo will unveil their real next handheld.
i am. its got some scratches for sure, but its been doing fine since launch. ill keep playn it till a new ninty handheld comes out (ie. not another DS) or till it dies.
you guys are lucky. I wish i had a phat ds, but i got a ds lite instead. i had a feeling there was going to be something better than the phat (i was partially right). And i feel that im wasting money buying a dsi. I regret buying a Lite. enjoy the phat while you still can People!:D
I love my Phat. It's pretty old, but it's great. My sister has the DS Lite, and I can't hold it comfortably because I have pretty big hands. Note that this is coming from a guy who thinks the original Xbox controller is a fine size.
