Mario most of the time. Captain Falcon if I'm playing Smash Brothers. Captain Olimar if I haven't had enough sleep and I'm just slap happy enough to laugh when the pikmin pick him up and carry him(when you let the game idle for a bit).
id have to say that even though this character only had a small part in the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and that im upset that he hasnt been used anywhere else is Fierce Deity Link!
My problem with Link and Samus is that though they are awesome and kick many-a-butt, they actually don't have personalities. My vote is for Tingle.JAB991

Oh go on then! If I have to choose one that I didn't create myself....I'd have to say.....erm.....Link - he may be a relative mute, but he's a good old fashioned hero who, if nothing else, you can always pretend is a young Robin Hood.
I'd say toad cause they're hilarious in Super Mario Galaxy. I don't get why people think Link is so great. I love the Zelda series but Link has zero personality. He's more of a shell for each player to fit into and make it feel like their running around Hyrule and killing stuff. I don't hate him, I just don't see why people could like him as a character.

It's because he's a shell that makes him great really. Well for me anyway. It's like...like me as a favourite Nintendo character :lol:. Kind of...:P
Well I don't know which one is better, if samus or link so I opted to vote for Ganondorf, I think he is my favorite villian, he is totally badazz, so sad nintendo restrain his abilities
As main character I got to say that Link is the best, I just wished he had a bit more of character and wasent a mute. Other than that, for a non playable character in good Zelda game must be the Zelda Princess her self, specially is she could be sheik. Imagine a Zelda game where the princess is the protagonist and as well she gets to be the Sheikan ninja kinda of a thing... well alright for most people that would be a bad Idea but I think the contrary, then again Nintendo nearly screw it up with Wind Waker graphic style changing it... they should make a new game completely new but adventure/puzzle style like Zelda :D
