i mean cmon. if i want a snes game i have to pay extra money for 1000 and i get 200 left which i cant use. why cant nintendo do it by 100s instead of 1000s? i bought a link to the past 2 or 3 months ago and i still have useless 200 points... who is mad that nintendo is forcing us to pay extra money for this stuff? i know its just a couple of extra bucks but its a couple of extra bucks that i wasted.

I agree it's somewhat annoying. Every now and then a game comes out that I'd like to download but I'd rather just spend the money on the single game as opposed to 20 bucks worth of points.

A) No one is forcing you to do anything.  If you don't want VC games don't buy them.

B) You CAN use the 200 points, they don't go away, they get added to future point purchases.  I know this might be hard to imagine, but if you only buy SNES games, after 4 such transactions you'd have 800 points added up.   You didn't waste it, it's still there.

I agree. That's the only reason I haven't bought a VC game in awhile.

I find it very irritating but that is how they conduct business.  They keep the leftover dollars.

Does it really matter? When you buy something that is like 4.99 do you complain about the penny change? The points are still going to be there and you will use them in future purchases.

What a silly thing to complain about.  Unless you only plan on buying 1800 points worth of VC games in your whole Wii career I don't really see the point.

It's not really wasted money. You'll have it for the next time you want to buy a game.

I see where the term sheep comes from now. Yeah, it's nothing to get too bothererd with but it's still incredibly silly on Nintendo's part. For them those few extra unused points add up. They aren't stupid when it comes to milking the consumer but there's no reason they can't charge you for what you want exactly. An NES game, ok we'll charge your credit card $5.00.

But at least Nintendo points are on a common sense scale of 100pts = $1.00

XBOX Live points are 80pts = $1.00, so 800pts = $10.00. It's an even more ridiculous system and obvioulsy created to confuse the consumer. It's disgusting really when you think about it.

The reason they do the ten twenty fourty fifty is quite simple. The fees for both them and you are much lower then if you were to buy some odd amounts at different times. Understand how credit card fees work people. Also there is the issue of taxes to be paid by Nintendo and quite frankly odd amounts that trickle in make that much more work to figure out.

Right now my state now charges the tax on wii vc points when it didn't use to. You goombas have no idea how business works nor what goes into the decisions a company makes. What you often think as being ripped off on is to compensate for losses because you steal from the companies. If people didn't Pirate games or dvds they would be 20 bucks on average lower and a lot of companies, properties that went out of business wouldn't have done so. Ever wonder why certain games that deserve a sequel don't? It's because pirates sucked so many dollars out of the final retail sales that the game looked like an abysmal failure.
