Cause Nintendo is trying to make hype or something stupid like that.
They should have 64 N64 games come out at Christmas.8)
It's easy to explain.
1-3rd party support was mediocre.
2-Rare had been sold to Microsoft.
chris3116
They were able to put Donkey Kong on the Vc and that was made by Rare.
But where the heck is Pod Racer N64?!?!It's easy to explain.

Hehe I think it would have been cooler if they released the N64 Starcraft game and gave it wii Controls. That would be the best.

Oh yeah... they had Pod Racer for the N64 too... man, I loved that game on the PC, but Windows XP can't run it. :( I will totally get a Wii just for that game if it comes out on the VC...
goldeneye 007......that game still costs like 20$ which is ridiculous and i want it on VC...i dont hav any VC games right now so if that came out id buy itSmartOne5792
Goldeneye is not coming since Rare owns the rights. Stop asking for it.

Ah if you only knew. I'm tired of people saying this and thinking there right. Why don't you actually go and research it before you post.

Your post intrigues me because I beleived what the former person said. Would you please explain?
Except for Goldeneye which only Rare/Microsoft owns
Jaysonguy
Uh-huh, and Activision owns the rights to the games they have already made and future James Bond games. So I don't get what that person said about people not knowing and thinking they do, since Rare/Microsoft DOES own Goldeneye

DK started out as a first party game. Even when development of later spinoff titles was shifted to Rare (and later different SP developers), Nintendo retained the rights to the franchise and all games in it.
They were able to put Donkey Kong on the Vc and that was made by Rare.
sSubZerOo
Actually it was developed by Nintendo AND Rareware so that would explain why it's on the VC and DK 64 not, since DK 64 was developed solely by Rare.
Losing Rare to Microsoft is one of the biggest losses for Nintendo fans. Not only did we lose several of the best N64 titles, but we also lost all future Rare titles as well. I can only imagine some of the spectacular stuff Rare could have done with Wii's graphics and gameplay :(
As far as N64 VC games, I really wish Nintendo would hurry up and release Pilotwings 64.

Thats because Nintendo owns Donkey Kong. Not Rare.
But a goof portion of N64 games that were good were produced by Rare. And all the games rare made on the Nintendo console are owned by Rare other than Star Fox and Donkey Kong.
That means games like Banjo Kazooie and Perfect Dark will never be on the virtual console.... Unless Microsoft eases up on Nintendo and Rare allows it's N64 classics to make their way to the Virtual console. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up going to the X-box likve Arcade instead though.

Actually, DK64 will most likely end up on the Vc... Since Nintendo owns DK. It doesn't matter who develops it. It's still Nintendo's property and Nintendo can do what they want with it.

If you haven't already noticed, despite Rare's move to Microsoft they still manage to spit up the occasional Nintendo handheld game.
Just earlier this year Diddy Kong Racing DS was released, developed by Rare. And Rare is currently developing a Viva Pinata title for the Nintendo DS.
