They are too busy making the good RPGs for the DS. Make those FF and DQ remakes for the Wii!! And plus, I don't have a good RPG for PS3 either.
I would just LOVE to see an RPG like xenosaga come out of monolithsoft again for the wii. They could even do a one handed control scheme. I seriously doubt we'll see anything worth looking at.CubeNerdplease stop that would be so tempting lmao. the wii has potential but not that many 3rd parties care for it which is sad.
People you are all way off, Good RPG AKES TIME to make. That being said: FF chocobo dungeon is coming July the 8th, Tales of Symphonia 2 is coming out in q4, FF crystal bearer is not dead, Monster Hunter 3 is exclusive to the Wii, Shinen the Wanderer is coming to the wii, Rune Factory 3, Harvest Moon (if you count that as a rpg), Little King, Fracture from Namco. Square Enix also said that thy want to make more Wii games and that their crystal engine is being worked on the Wii.vnc20100Yea maybe your right, but i just thought that the Wii would be more of an RPG console like the SNES or Ps2 you know since it was easier to develop for than the Ps3 and Xbox 360.
Other than Squeenix (Square Enix) who makes GOOD RPG's?Arkk_AngelMonolith Soft (Now owned by Nintendo), Atlus, Nippon Ichi, Vanillaware (Making Legend of Dragon Sword for the Wii used to be called Oboro Muramasa Youtouden) Namco Tales Studios, Tri-Ace, Tri-Cesendo (Making Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon) and some others but I can't remember them. (But I'm talking about JRPGs if your talking about WRPGs then their are others.)

Capcom - Breath of Fire
SE - Parasite eve remake, FF: Tactics using Wii-mote as pointer.
Thats about it really.
I think that TP and Okami are actually pretty good.
I think that the moment of glory will come for the Wii. Hopefully.
Just another hat to throw into the ring... turned based RPG's are dying in general, Blue Dragon for the 360 is the only one I've seen in a while that was actually a turn based RPG, the worst thing to happen to RPG's was the consolidation of Squaresoft and Enix if you ask me, without Enix in that title we would have seen alot less kiddy BS and a lot more grown up, real dialogue, darker RPG's like Final Fantasy 7 and 8 to come along, and a lot less FFX-2. What the Wii needs is a big, immersive RPG with characters that are defined by their personalities and not by how many buckles and pockets they have on their pants.
Oopoona got horrible reviews. And super paper mario is a platformer, a great one, but it's not really an RPG.CubeNerd
Super Paper Mario was more of an action-RPG than it was a platformer, and Opoona didn't get horrible reviews. Right now it has a 65 on Metacritic, which is just short of a recommended purchase. Most reviewers agree though that it's worthwhile if you're an RPG fan, which I'm assuming TC is.
There are enough quality RPGs coming to the Wii. There are:
Fragile Farwell Ruins of the Moon
Tales of Symphonia Kinghts of Ratatosk
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles The Crystal Bearers
Rune Factory
Oboro Muramusa Youtouden (its from Vanillaware the people behind Odin Sphere)
Munster Hunter 3
As you can see that should be enough for now, I'm not as concerned about RPGs on the Wii as I was with the Gamecube's.
I know it's old school but i'd really like to see a turn-based rpg though.CubeNerd
Turn based RPGs are pretty much dead. The only chance of one appearing on the Wii is if Nintendo makes a proper Paper Mario title (though even those games aren't completely old fashioned TBRPGs).
Though if DQ9 does well enough DQ10 could end up on the Wii, and there is no chance the fanbase will let that series become an action RPG.
Or any nintendo console for that matter. Since N64 there has been 1 maybe 2 decent RPG's on a Nintendo console. What gives? They bought out monolith soft (xenosaga developers) last year and all that's come out of that is a japanese only DS action RPG. The only game on the horizon is the Tales of Symphonia sequel. WHY NINTENDO WHY???? CubeNerd
Maybe this is a little off topic, but looks like some of you people have missed the Baten Kaitos series, which are two of the most decent RPGs we had lately on a Nintendo console. Give it a try if you haven't already, money shouldn't be a problem since they are somewhat old games by now.Aerthel
Yeah you are right about that for sure. I got it a month or so ago and it is great. Haven't had time to play as much as I'd like but the battle system with the cards is great and turn based. Story seems great.
My RPG wishlist for the wii would have to be as follows.
Nintendo: Earthbound sequel/remake/reboot/whatever,
Monolithsoft: Sci-fi RPG, (I'd be okay with a xenosaga clone really)
Square: REAL Final fantasy game, not this crystal chronicles crap. Put a good story in there and don't make the characters all cartoony looking.
Shin Megami Tensei: Really anything here would be awesome.
Level 5: Dark Cloud clone, This would be so great with the motion controls on the wii to swing your weapon at enemies in real-time battles.
Bioware: It would be awesome to see them do a star trek rpg like mass effect on the wii.
