Why did nintendo realease the Wii in the color white?

I think its because their trying to make it similar to the apple Ipod, and other Apple accessories. They probably have not came out with another color yet because the wii is still a "hot" item, and selling very well. No need for any change with the wii atm.You will probably see new wii colors once the selling has settled down, just smart business.

i got nothing against purple...but i would rather have a lime green wii then the white one.8)

They wanted to keep it sleep and simple like the iPod look, which the have done. Also, the White gameboxes are a nice touch too.

white just seems to be the fad colour. Look at the 360 and most ipods. Personally, I'd like them to release an NES-looking wii.
