Same... Plus the fact I've had about all Nintendo consoles made Since NES and I've never had anything other than Nintendo, other than Xbox. Plus, I heard about Brawl and that it might have online play, so then I was excited.
1. Fanboy
2. Price
3. Zelda
4. Mario
5. Umbrella Chronicles
6. Unique Controls
Prolly more, I just can't think of any right now.
Multiple reasons:
-Games I want: Super smash bros. brawl, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Endless Ocean, etc.
-I grew up with Nintendo
-It's the cheapest
-Nintendo's awesome

Orignaily, i picked it up as some thing to do between sessions of Power gaming GeoW for hours at a time. I though i would buy a few of the big games and it would stay subserviant to my 360, but the table's turned. I packed up my 360, lent all my game for it out to friend's and co-workers and now only play my wii.
ill prob. bring my 360 out when Halo 3 land's, but i predict by Nov. 12th, it will be back in it's box..............................
First off its cuz it was the least expensive next-gen console out there.
Secondly i bought a ds a year before and loved the inovation and was stoked about the motion control.
Then i realised i was sick of playstation 2 and wanted some system thats reliable and is like something completley new like the wii.
As a child, I always dreamed of being an adult with a job to purchase my own Nintendo games. The N64 and GC were extremely disappointing to me because I knew from the beginning that software support would be bad. I also knew that I would be unhappy with Nintendo as DVDs replaced VHS and the internet became more adapted into everyday life. I was one of the FEW kids in my neighborhood who took a chance on a Genesis instead of the SNES. After that, I vowed not to turn on Nintendo again. Therefore, I "divorced" Nintendo because I did not want to be unhappy with them. I knew they would act better some day.
10-15 years later, they announce their plans for the Wii: motion controls to change the traditional way that games are played; WiiConnect24 constantly downloading content and things; internet browsing; DVD playability; Miis; Virtual Console; and so on.
Now after being a gamer for over 20 years, I know that NO company delivers everything that they plan for their next-generation hardware, but at the same time, Nintendo was telling me, loud and clear, that they wanted me back.
After my new ten year "marriage" with Sony, I was still a little skeptical, and I at least wanted to give Sony a chance to put their cards on the table. They deserved that much after all the good times with Final Fantasy VII, if not for any other game. Now, we can get to the reasons why for the past 16 days I have been happier than when I got a Nintendo Action Set.
1) Motion Controls and a Remote Interface are brilliant. They blend using a TV remote with using a mouse, which are two things that are in every modern home on the planet.
2) Nintendo delivered many of their plans- internet, news, photos, weather, backward compatibility, virtual console, Miis, and more to come. They removed DVD playability, but I still have my PS2 for that. I would love to have just one "do it all" game system, but I will deal with no DVD playback for now. Nintendo succeeded in creating a system that you can do something with everyday.
3) Nintendo has been very reliable on releasing their games without delays. I love that on any system. I don't like putting money aside for a game, and having it pushed to a later date, and they have not made me either.
4) The lineup has been spectacular, to say the least. I haven't seen a game library begin this well since the SNES, and I love it. I'm going to have to work a lot of overtime to get my hands on a lot games, but I will not be bored.
5) Virtual Console- I love the old school games. On my computer, I have emulators for NES, SNES, Game Boy, Genesis, and Turbo-Grafx 16. I also have each system's game libraries. Seeing a console (next-gen, last-gen, or whenever) cater to retro fans like me is great.
All of this has happened, and Nintendo has not released their real heat nor has third party support fully met the system's potential.
If you don't have one, get one. If you're doubtful of its fun-factor, try someone else's. I'm sure you can find someone with one because they sure aren't in any stores. LOL
i picked it over the other systems because of the motion controls why did you?Gally66motion controls too
it was an accident. i went in to buy a xbox360 premium and they didnt have it. they had 8 wiis in stock. so i walked around the isles for a bit and thought. wii could be cool. plus all those platformers you can download on the vc. i walked up to the counter and 4 of the 8 had been sold in the 20 minutes i walked around the store. they said its a package deal you have to pick 2 accessorys. so i walked over and started checking out the games. 2 more wiis sold. 2 were left. i said fudge it. grabbed paper mario and a old school remote for the vc. walked up and paid for it. walked out with 1 left on the shelf.
overall im happy with it. but i will end up with xbox360 also at some point for some regular gameplay. there are to many days i just want to hang and play a game to relax without flaying my arms all over the place and nintendo is just too into making every single game like that.
