I understand people be on budgets with projects, but I'd rather have a ps1 looking game that is raw and has good gameplay, then 65% of what is on the wii. I wondering who is in these developers ears telling them, "That is a fun game and it's going to sale well", they purposey sabotaging their people on purpose. these companies need as bad as it sounds, but bite off of another type of game, look at MOH 2, it bit off of Metroid Prime 3, but both games are good. These companies need to start taking notes.

Shovelware. They Prey on Grandparents/Parents/Young Kids that don't know any better.

Every system gets them, not just Wii. Although Wii gets a lot more.

Developers make games that are not fun because they are easier and cheaper to make...

Yeah I wish I had a deep thought provoking answer for you but thats about it.

A lot of times they make cheap games so people will buy them just because they're inexpensive. I agree with what you are saying but it's a business. The Wii isn't as powerful as the other consoles so alot of the games will be dumbed down ports. But there are alot of things the Wii can do great. it's just all of the best games are made by Nintendo. It seems alot of developers worry more about money, than catering games for the Wii.

for the other consoles you'll get good quality games. for the wii, not so much. games on the wii are easy to make and take lil effort so dev's arent really pushing to make great games on the wii. plus a lot of 3rd party games on the wii aren't doing so hot so no reason to bring out new ideas.

IputitdowntothelackofIndiesupportfortheWii.Nintendoreallyneedsto get the Indie developer kit line going. Since it seems most of the current development houses see the Wii as PS2(cutting costs to make games for the PS3) port dumping ground its going to take some new hotshots to up the standards.

Who's looking forward to Sam and Max for the Wii? I know I am. Yay return of the Adventure type games!

There really are two levels of Wii games. There are the $25 - $30 lightly entertaining games. Then there are the serious $50 - $60 ones. It is unfortunate that many of the lower end games are being price as upper end, when they really shouldn't.

First of all, "fun" is subjective. But money has a hell of a lot to do with poor quality games.

The Wii appeals to a wider audience, and within a wider audience, also comes a lot of newcomers to gaming. These poor games are made to easily trick off these inexperienced gamers.

If it's any consolation, the rate of shovelware should be going down now that developers are finally starting to take the Wii seriously.

Why do developers make games that aren't fun?

The answer is so multifaceted and complex that I will give you a more simple one. The people that make unenjoyable games are allergic to joy.

topic probably should have read "why do developers make games that aren't fun to me"

There are plenty of junk titles for the Wii but there are plenty of junk titles for other systems too. Everyone has different tastes for the kind of games that they have fun with. Just because you don't see x title as fun doesn't mean someone else doesn't.
