Some the most trashy and horrible games are on the Wii, yet they are the most bought at stores worldwide. Some examples are Wii Play ,Wii Fit, and Wii Sports. If you have any comments or ideas on this topic, Write Them Here!!! MrGamer117
I'm sorry but games like Wii Sports/Fit are far from being "trashy and horrible". They might not appeal to you but that doesn't mean they aren't good or any fun. There are people out there that enjoy these types of games and as long as they do, they will continue to buy them. I admit, Wii Play isn't great and it's mainly selling so well because of the bundled Wiimote but it's not completely terrible. I personally don't have Wii Fit but I can see why it is appealing to so many people and i'm sure many people are awaiting Wii Fit Plus. Wii Sports on the otherhand is a fantastic game and I honestly can't wait to pick up Wii Sports Resort.
Because they might like the games. People should be allowed to buy whatever they want. And Wii Fit isn't that bad.
I ran out of Wii titles so i just chose wii sports. But wii fit does look trashy. Wii Sports is a good gameMrGamer117
Unless you've played it before, that's merely just your opinion. It may not appeal to you but there are plenty of people that do like it. The "Wii" title games are going to continue selling well because they appeal to a larger audience.
id imagine many of them dont think those gamesare crappy or they wouldnt have bought them.
others are just uninformed and go by brand name (sticking "wii" in the title helps). have you ever walked into a cigar shop without knowing anything about what makes a good cigar? its pretty daunting.
Not forgetting EA Sports Active which in its first week sold more than Madworld overall.Junior_AIN
Oh, you mean the EA Active which scored AA? You've obviously never played it, because it's not trash, I'll give you another attempt if you'd like to salvage the foot in your mouth?
Sadly, you're not bringing up a good arguement here in regards to Wii owners buying bad games. All three games you've mention all have really good reasons for being as successful as they are. Wii Sports comes with the system outside of Japan, Wii Play (Wii Remote included) is a really good value for the price of an average game, and Wii Fit's a quality title that offers a new experience and a unique accessory in the Balance Board. In all honestly, I've played 2 of the 3 games, and I didn't find either Wii Sports (which I'll still play from time to time) or Wii Play "crappy."
Now... a crappy Wii game would be a game that has broken controls or just plain doesn't work because it's glitchy and buggy. But I'm going to assume those don't sell very well. Games like Wii Sports and Wii Fit aren't really crappy (it doesn't matter if you like the premise of it or not, because simply thats just an opinion obviously) because there really isn't anything wrong with those games that makes them unplayable.
I haven't played Wii Play, but I just know it's bundled with the Wiimote and generally... if you're going to own a console that's good for parties, you're going to want more than one controller right?
Though I don't care for the wii mii games myself, I think there are much worse shovelware titles on the Wii.
I don't know. The game could still have a good story, good characters, good voice-acting, good visuals, good sfx and music, and lots of other stuff even if the gameplay is broken. Escape from Bug Island is considered by many to be a bad game, but is it worse than some of the other crap out there? Probably not - most people were frustrated with the primitive controls in the game, otherwise there weren't that many complaints aside from personal opinion.Now... a crappy Wii game would be a game that has broken controls or just plain doesn't work because it's glitchy and buggy. But I'm going to assume those don't sell very well.

It sounds like the topic creator is one of those who thinks every game should be an FPS or a Gears of War or a GTA game, anything else is hated for not being what they demand.
Wii Sports isn't bad, haven't played Wii Fit and Wii Play, though I know someone who has Wii Play. Maybe I should try it one day and see what I think to it.
Sometimes it's the 'bad games' that can at times be really fun. Not every game, no, but there are games, that people hate on automatically for not being what they demand, that are a great deal of fun. It's just a case of trying the game out, giving yourself the time to really play the game.

"Why do people instantly consider a game bad without even playing it"?

Because they're either slaves to review scores, incapable of thinking for themselves in other ways, bitter that games cost so much each that they wish to use the "sour grapes" justification for not getting it, or feeding confirmation bias to put down a console they don't own.
Because IGN tells them to.
Kidding. Nobody buys a game knowing it's trash or thinking that it's trash. They're either misinformed OR, like others have said, they actually like those games. In all honesty, I just played a bunch of DS demos from the Nintendo Channel this afternoon, including a Megaman demo, and MySims Racing was by far my favorite. I'd never buy it myself, but I wouldn't really ridicule anyone who did. That's probably one of those games you'd consider trash, I'm guessing.
Wii Sports is good actually and the reason some people get awful games is because maybe they like them. Not all of us look at reviews.
[QUOTE="dotWithShoes"][QUOTE="snowman6251"]wii sports came bundled with the console. of course it sold. it was a nice pack in for the console too as it worked as somewhat of a tech demo. the rest. I dunno. Wii Fit is incredibly stupid. I don't know why people bought it but they did. Wii Play had a wiimote and a game for like 10 bucks. That's why that one sold.snowman6251Why is Wii Fit stupid? I can not name one good thing thats come from it. It spawned that balance board, a useless peripheral that people keep trying to incorporate into games to lessen their control a la Punch Out. It isn't a game, it's trying to mask itself as one by having a few stupid mini games but other than that its trying to tell people that its a home gym when it isn't. Its a bathroom scale that tells people their fat. Its not a game. Its a waste of money and to add insult to injury some other games want me to have to damned thing. I refuse. I will not spend a cent on that piece of garbage. You opinion of Wii Fit is childish and is an over simplification. Also, you seem to lack maturity, are you 13 years old or what(no offense)?
The same reason why some people have spelling errors in their topic titles: they don't know any better.

I don't like the game, its forced a useless peripheral on us that I don't want to deal with, and in addition to that I don't even see it as really being much of a game in the first place. Yeah, it's not a game. Everybody pretty much knows that. It's not called Wii Fit Games you know.
Opinions are great, but it's not the fact that yours is different I have a problem with, it's how you present it. Put a little more though in your posts, that's all.
I bought The Conduit regardless of the good/bad reviews. I bought it because I thought it had potential of improving the natural Wii controls of FPS gaming (which it did very successfully), and because it had online-multiplayer.
I am very happy with my purchase, even though reviewers treated it "crappy". In my opinion, The Conduit is not a a "crappy" game, but rather a great game!

well yeah, some games can have great premises, stories, and what not that would make them a good game (Turning Point: Fall of Liberty comes to mind with it's interesting story and what not) but the game can be FULL of glitches and bugs and have very bad or broken controls to the point where its unplayable (as I said before) and thats what would make the game bad. There's been a lot of games that had ok storylines such as the Resident Evil series, but they also had great gameplay and (for the cannon games atleast) had great, good working controls.

Wii Play - Free game?...
Wii Fit - Not garbage. I don't like it, but many people love it.
Wii Sports - Another free game?...
Obviously you know nothing about the Wii...
Wii fit isn't trashy and i like it and sure lots of people will get wii fit plus. The same with with wii sports and wii sports resort. But i know what you meen.

I disagree completely. First of all the wii is my only console and if the number of games I have for it is even the slightest indication, I don't hate the thing. Second of all I like the wiimote nunchuck (and now M+) combo. Aside from that I don't want to use any useless peripherals. I don't want a zapper, I definitely don't want a balance board. The only game I want some extra crap for is guitar hero. I hate when people tell me I have to open my mind when I've tried something (not purchased btw) and didn't like it. That's just a cheap response. I tried it. I hated it. There's nothing more to it than that. I wouldn't call myself closed minded as I bought Rune Factory Frontier yesterday, having never played one of those farm sim games before, just because I felt like trying it out. In that case I liked it (well so far anyway). In wiifit's case I didn't. It isn't a game. Its boring and it comes with a peripheral I would never want to have to use, period.
So what?take it easy, be happy for the people that enjoy it, like me!!I love my balance board and all this people too:

Because the majority of recreational gamers will buy the wii and wii fitness is a pretty recreational game

You just contridicted yourself. You ask why they buy "crappy" games then list Wii sports.. Then say it was a good game. If you run out of these "crappy" games after only 2 you are not making a very good point. There is however a boat load of horrible games which have sold well on the Wii. The Wii is king of the shovel ware. You have to remember this console is playedby a lot of children with the parents buying the games for them. Parents who are uninformed on the quality of the game.

considering ninja breadman was on the ps2 aswell, and so where most wii shovelware titles, it makes no sense to bash the wii without bashing the ps2 aswell, except if your a cow, then it makes sense

How do we define "sold well"? And where are the sales figures to show that these "horrible" games sold well?
And one thing: should really we care about the so-called "shovelware" titles? Can we just ignore them and buy the games that we enjoy? I personally do not lose sleep nor get paranoid over shovelware titles on the Wii.
