It's comparable to OOT.
Need more explaining? Ok: You aren't into games like Super Mario 64, Super Mario galaxy, and sunshine. Or maybe becuz u never played it, read about, read reviews, i mean, i love the game, but dont have it, never rented it, never even played the demo. AND I STILL LOVE IT! I plan on getting it, but not right now. its cuz, maybe it doesnt make sense to u right now, or it doesnt have a deep egnough story-line for you.
This is like saying,"Hey I watched some Super Mario Galaxy videos and despite it's awesome reviews, the game sucks." You make no sense TC come back when you've at least popped the game in your wii.

BURN!!! YOU BURNED !!!! HIM!!!!!! BURN!!!!!!!
seems like everyone has it but me :cry:PhazonBlazer
Don't worry, I don't have it either; but I rented it. And it is a definite buy for christmas now. (for me)
I agree with the OP, although I have played the game and generally enjoy these types of games the most out of all the genres. For a show of my progress, I'm 20 stars away from completing Mario's quest and have already beaten the final battle with Bowser.
I've found that Galaxy is barely a step-forward from Sunshine. The planetoids aspect is an interesting one, but monumentally flawed and under-used: most planetoids basically act as round platforms without attempting any type of unique challenge. The camera is abhorrent and on occasion I've had to rely on Mario's static first-person view to allow me visibility of an area so that I didn't jump head-first in to it and die. The bosses are pathetic and mid-level bosses and quests are constantly repeated, as are the unoriginal mini-games (don't get me started on the controls for Ray Surfing). The motion-controls are obviously a tacked on extra for use in the main game, and the hype surrounding the costumes that Mario has access to is deplorable: they're basically limited-use power-ups with less functionality and originality than any other Mario game before it. The completion bonus is shameful: having to complete the game twice just to get access to the Mushroom Kingdom area is atrocious, as is Luigi being the "secret character" on a console that insists on you creating fully-functional 3D avatars.
The themes for the areas are also dull and obviously begin to run out of ideas towards the later stages. Some levels don't even make use of the planetoids concept, which is ignorant. The graphics are fine and the music is fine, but nothing special: everything looks and sounds like Sunshine but a little bit shinier. The story is pathetic and it's tiring to have it forced on you; it's also tiring that it takes about ten minutes of story and plodding around before you can begin to actually play. The difficulty level isn't great, as the game throws lives at you but becomes a test of patience during some of the quests.
The worst factor is that Nintendo already created an original and competent orbiting game in their recent GBA release 'Orbital'. It also seems to me that Kirby would have been a better fit for the game as he's the natural Nintendo space-hopping alien and often his games are built around unique concepts. If they could have created a game in which you need to sacrifice borrowed abilities in order to have the power to swallow enemies to make yourself bigger, which in the process would allow you the Katamari style power to have larger enemies orbit you for whatever reason, then that would have been an original game. As it is, this is just another 3D platformer with a poorly implemented 'upside-down platforms in 3D' theme.
My score: 5/10
i have watched many reviews and read many reviewswwedx
SO you haven't played it yet? if so GO AND PLAY then make your decision. Personally when I saw all the reviews and Vid's I thought meh just another Mario game with a twist that will get old, then I brought it on launch (AUS29th) I have love it. I've played 11.5 hours in 3 days. 1 of which was a school night so I only got an hour into it on that night and let me say although2nd best game of all time is maybe a bit much **** this game is better than it looks because everything just works and is so awesome, so ya got to play it before judging it. Man if I judged it before playing it I wouldn't think of it being a possible GOTY but just a good game instead so do ya self a favor and at least rent it.
Cause its better than OoT like so many other Nintendo games before it and after OoT.draftrough
ZOMG A TROLL! Kill it!!!

this thread obvioulsy isnt going anywhere ...so what does TC mean?
why do so many people like this game and give it high reviews i have watch gameplay movies of it and i dont really get the point of it it just doesnt apeal to me like other game do?wwedx
WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE pie...
I mean, they make these "mmm" sounds when they put it in their mouths, and they get really happy when they start bitin' the stuff down. They even pay just to have people come and put this stuff on the table, I mean, I don't really get the point it just doesn't make sense?
I've smelt the sweet savory smell of apple and the warm wholesome aroma of crust and seen the banquets of lavish pies in bakeries, but it just doesn't appeal to me like other foods do?
I like steak and ribs, you know, manly foods, this sweet kiddy stuff doesn't cut it. So, just because of the fact that I don't like it, I'm making this thread to people who I obviously know are emamored by these pies and I'm expecting a complete, logical, and coherent response telling me why I, representing the 1.4e-10% of the world, do not like pie.
If there exists such an obscured answer, Broken_Memory gave his little soliloquy back on page 3. Suit yourself...with a Bee Suit! *bzzzzzt*
