It's unique. No other system can give you the experience of playing Skate It or Shaun White on a balance board or playing a shooter with a remote (PC does shooters right though). It's also cool how many non gamers are willing to give the Wii a try and end up having a ton of fun on it,

Because I have fun with the games I own and there are other games I also want to own. It's a matter of preference, like anything else.

The fact that if you look beyond the shovelware, you'll find 30+ titles worth owning :|. This isnt system wars. People don't just look at the shovelware and call the Wii's software line up crap.

I still play the Wii because Nintendo is still making some of the best games the industry has to offer. All the amazing games I'm playing right now are from Nintendo themselves and it's all a lead up to my most anticipated game of all time, PIKMIN 3! Also the VC will never get old even though it is good because it is old.

Simple. I'm still having a lot of fun playing games on the Wii. There's really no secret to this fact. I'll agree that there are a lot of games I wouldn't dare bother with on the Wii, but there are also a lot of games on the Wii that I can't enjoy on other systems. The only problem I'm facing is the games that I have at the moment, but that's always $50-100 away from being fixed at any given time. :P As long as I'm having fun playing the Wii, that's what I'll continue to do.

Because I'll just a have a vibe to play it again. Plus, beyond all the shovelware, there are some truly fantastice titles that are unfortunately at times overshadowed by the sheer mountain of shovelware number-wise.

the great thing about the Wii is what the Wii is marketed towards. Being for anyone... Wiisports alone has allowed me to involve my daughter in gaming with me, my mother, and whoever else that would never even try anything gaming related with me before. Not to mention all the sweet games that are out for it.

Plus, women love the Wii. Go buy/rent a house, invite as many girls as you can over, and tell them you all are playing Wii. The clothes will fly off faster than your eyes can see....

I have all three systems and i love playing games on my Wii. Just today i mixed it up with Mirrors Edge on PS3, Left 4 Dead on the 360 and i played a ton of House of the Dead: Overkill on my Wii. I have a hard time trying to split game time between systems. Wii games i spend time with lately are Pinball Hall of Fame, Tench; Deadly Assassin, Deadly Creatures, Le Blob, Blast Works. I want to play these as much as the big boy games like Gears of War and Resistance 2. I dont have any problem going back and forth between a less powerfull system. The Wii offers a unique gaming experience.

Because the existence shovelware does not impact in any way my ability to enjoy good games. :?

I will never, ever understand why people even bother to give shovelware the time of day.

To be honest i havnt played anything on my Wii propely since Brawl, and i dont even play that much anymore. Im really hopeing Nintendo will annouce a few hardcore games for the Wii at E3, amybe they were holding them back so they could use the motion+ attachment? If not i may just loose faith in Nintendo :(

for me its a special/emotional reason

it started with my first ever game, pac man,on the SNES,still remember it

kept goin throught the N64 and gamecube then the wii

theres just a certain feeling u get when ur ganondorf in brawl and just pwn ppl,or in metroid prime 3 when u first play in the cockpit.its just a WOW feeling.starting off as a little kid in the zelda games, then reaching the final boss and looking at the warrior you've become,or even blasting off a ganados head in resident evil 4 with a rocket launcher, lol. I guess a just feel a certain comfort when playing nintendo games. Its a great feeling =]

Because it is the best console I own. I'm a big fan of wii games. Right now, I'm playing Twilight Princess, MP3, galaxy and RE4 mostly, as well as Brawl and MK wii with friends, and I'm always playing SMB3 when I need a little relaxation. My girlfriend is playing Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 and Super Paper Mario. Plus, it is completely backwards compatible with gamecube. Whenever I want a new game and I am broke, I just head over to the local used electronics store and pick up a gamecube game for 5 bucks. After I work my way through my current wii library, I have a small pile of gamecube games waiting for me (wind waker, metal gear twin snakes, super mario sunshine, super monkey ball 4, tony hawk underground 2, capcom vs snk 2 eo, ssx tricky, luigi's mansion, and nhl 2004). I also really want Deadly Creatures, Dead Rising CTYD, Fire Emblem, Chocobo's Dungeon, Tales of Symphonia 1 and 2, Bully SE, and Godfather.

Hungry_Jello

Because once you take away the mound of shovelware you see, there are a few unique games that are apsolute jewels.

I think thats what really appeals to me, Nintendo's ability to be unique.

Oh, and I love your quote. Princess Bride is posibly one of the best sword fighting movies ever.:D

I own an xbox 360 and a wii but i still think the wii is amazing. Sure i own a lot more games for the xbox 360 but the wii has some of my favorite games on it. Not to mention all of the classic games i can buy. Anyway i continue to buy games for the wii because i enjoy the games that i buy. The wii can have a billion shovelware games but i wouldn't care because i don't buy that stuff and it has plenty of great games.

I'm getting a 360 soon, but I'm still going to give attention to my Wii.
Nintendo's first-party games are often the best games, I mean Mario Galaxy almost fully justifys my purchase. Hopefully we get some good games from Nintendo this year, before it's too late. Wow, I made that sound dramatic.

Perhaps it's the fact that instead of relying primarily on flashy BS graphical output, the concern is garnered around a new control scheme. One that brings people that don't typically play games of the video persuasion into focus. Perhaps a step forward?

Hungry_Jello

Games that aren't possible on any other system other than Wii. Franchises that you won't find on any other system other than Wii. Sure, the system could use much more quality software, but the ones it currently has are top-notch and 2009 has the potential to be the Wii's biggest year yet.
