What drives you to continue using this peculiar system? I think its a great system with shovelware in its way of shining and could make some quality games. What are your reasons?

The fact that if you look beyond the shovelware, you'll find 30+ titles worth owning :|. This isnt system wars. People don't just look at the shovelware and call the Wii's software line up crap.Haziqonfire
I like the Wii games that are out and coming. I was curious if ppls reasons for playing Wii was same or close to mine.
the great thing about the Wii is what the Wii is marketed towards. Being for anyone... Wiisports alone has allowed me to involve my daughter in gaming with me, my mother, and whoever else that would never even try anything gaming related with me before. Not to mention all the sweet games that are out for it.
Plus, women love the Wii. Go buy/rent a house, invite as many girls as you can over, and tell them you all are playing Wii. The clothes will fly off faster than your eyes can see....
for me its a special/emotional reason
it started with my first ever game, pac man,on the SNES,still remember it
kept goin throught the N64 and gamecube then the wii
theres just a certain feeling u get when ur ganondorf in brawl and just pwn ppl,or in metroid prime 3 when u first play in the cockpit.its just a WOW feeling.starting off as a little kid in the zelda games, then reaching the final boss and looking at the warrior you've become,or even blasting off a ganados head in resident evil 4 with a rocket launcher, lol. I guess a just feel a certain comfort when playing nintendo games. Its a great feeling =]
because its the only console i own right now T.T
i want a ps3 for mgs4 and such but for now i'll have to settle with the wii's un-impressive library
i am enjoying tenchu 4 at the moment..its feeding my gaming hunger for now
i just wish i didn't have to dig through so much crap to find a decent wii game these days..

Because once you take away the mound of shovelware you see, there are a few unique games that are apsolute jewels.
I think thats what really appeals to me, Nintendo's ability to be unique.
Oh, and I love your quote. Princess Bride is posibly one of the best sword fighting movies ever.:D
Ill also add that most of us only have a Wii, so we really don't have a choice on what we play lol. We arn't spoiled like some mutli system owners.Pesantez
I own an xbox 360 and a wii but i still think the wii is amazing. Sure i own a lot more games for the xbox 360 but the wii has some of my favorite games on it. Not to mention all of the classic games i can buy. Anyway i continue to buy games for the wii because i enjoy the games that i buy. The wii can have a billion shovelware games but i wouldn't care because i don't buy that stuff and it has plenty of great games.

Games that aren't possible on any other system other than Wii. Franchises that you won't find on any other system other than Wii. Sure, the system could use much more quality software, but the ones it currently has are top-notch and 2009 has the potential to be the Wii's biggest year yet.
