So last week I posted a thread about an amazingnew trailer for Zelda: Spirit Tracks. It died within the day. This, to me, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I mean this is a brand-spankin' new trailer for the new Zelda game! New gameplay and items were shown! New bossfights! People should be eating this crap up! A couple days ago a piece of concept art for the new Wii Zelda showed up. Now, this is a piece of concept art. For a game that won't be coming until, let's be honest, probably 2012. The internet blows up. For one single painting. Yet we get several trailers and gameplay vids for the new DS Zelda game thats coming within the year, and nothing happens. What's up with this, people? Why does no one care?

It's not really a big deal right now

If it was the only game coming out for the DS worth playing this year people would be all over it like "Oh I can't wait to dust off/buy one/regrow my thumbs so I can work my DS again"

Instead it's far away and a bunch of great titles have been released and will be released until then

I'd try the thread closer to when we actually get it

In MY opinion, its toon link where talking about here so i find that nothing is wrong with him riding a train.

I also Ifnd that there is nothing wrong with him riding a train either.People will just say that "link riding a train"will just throw off the whole legend of zelda series but in MY opinion, its toon link where talking about here and not the more mature link we usually see on the wii.

There is nothing wrong with trains, people just like to find reasons to whine.

And this is not excuse to be turned away because of trains :P

Well to be honest it looks just like the last Zelda but with a train instead of a boat.

It looks exactly like Phantom Hourglass.

Something that bothers me:

People keep ranting that the DS is more powerful than the N64... Then why don't we get games that are the same scale as OoT?

I'm almost sure that the DS doesn't have more power than the N64... Even if people say it's on paper, it makes no sense why developers don't make bigger games if it's available. Either that or developers are lazy.

Its not because they don`t make, it just seems that they don`t want to. :P Laziness? possibly.

I'm excited for it. It seems that the only notable similarity is that it uses the PH engine. Quite a few things have changed, and most likely for the better.

As for myself, It looks nice, but after I lost my sister, it's kinda hard to jump for joy on anything these days now, even Kingdom Hearts coming to the DS. I'm looking forward to it, but just not excited.

But it's possible, I've met & seen alot of underachievers in my life. Or just afraid to outdo or come close to Ocarina of Time.

Because I didn't find Phantom Hourglass anything special so I don't have much faith in Spirit Tracks. It looks the same, instead of a boat, we're using a train.

You're right. I mean, if graphically the game looks the same then it can't be good right? That's why Majora's Mask was bad. It used the same engine as OoT--forget all the gameplay changes, new story, new characters, dungeons, items, etc. If it looks the same as the last game, why bother?

That was sarcasm, by the way. Your reasoning is ridiculous. The reason why we're not getting something on the scale of OoT is because that type of game doesn't fit the stylus very well. Nintendo said the whole point of PH was that they wanted to create a game using nothing but the stylus. You can't really do that with a game with a similar style to Ocarina. It would be...weird.

So, you think button controls would be good? Wrong. Look at Mario 64 DS. The controls were weird because you're trying to control a full 3-D game with a control pad.

Depends on the user. Some fans don't like the idea of the train, others are psyched for the game. It's a bit of mixed reactions, but I myself am looking forward to it.

People want it, but they already know what to expect from it. It's using the same controls as PH did, so any worries about the game's controls aren't there (which was the main reason PH was talked about so much), so people just want the game to come out. Screens and trailers don't really help the wait at all. :P

Whoa, don't get so riled up.

I didn't say I didn't like the game. I've been following Zelda forever and I'll stick pick this up.

That doesn't matter. Larger scale doesn't mean it has to be the same way OoT was like. It could be the same game with the same engine but it could be larger.

How the hell did you pick this up from what I said? I never said that button controls would be good, and I never said that Spirit Tracks is bad.

I'm looking forward to it. With so many other good games coming out though, its hard to get extremely excited for this right now. Still a ways off. I mean, look at all the games we have coming out between now and Spirit Tracks. Ghostbusters, Shin Megami Tensei, Professor Layton, Scribblenauts, Kingdom Hearts, Mario & Luigi 3, just to name a few.

My bad. I'm not actually angry; I don't think I could actually be angry at some random person on the internet that I don't know. I guess I was just sick of people complaining that it looks exactly the same as PH, because that's obviously not a problem at all. I'm sick, and bored, and was in a particularly nasty mood because Soda Popinsky had just beat me for the 40th time, so I apologize because there was absolutely no reason for me to go off on you like that.

IMO its cause when it was announced every one was hyped up for a new (rumored) zelda wii game, so it technically was a little dissapointing to some ppl, as far as Im concerned Ill get it the day it comes out alongside new super mario, a phoenix wright game and advance wars ds (didnt like days of ruin that much) when I buy my first ds ever

I want it, but it's really just one of many at the moment. So it doesn't quite stand out. The DS's lineup is just too packed with awesome games for this to get the limelight. Still, it is kinda odd that it's not getting the majority of the spotlight. Most Zelda games get huuuuge hype.

And I personally like the toon graphics and train addition. I'm sure the developers will change things up too. They already have actually, by making Link rely more on companions (at least that is what they said) than he did in PH. So it won't be too similar to the last game.
