At this time good games are simply not enough to save Nintendo. A new Mario or Zelda with no voice acting , same story, no online play, and pretty much the same thing with better graphics and control scheme, is not enough to get people to into buying a Wii U.

Nintendo needs to completely re innovate their Mario and Zeldas, and make NEW game series. As I said before, better graphics and control scheme on next generation games are not enough to sell the same old series, even if it has good reviews. Just look at Super Mario 3D World.

Nintendo needs to put voice acting or make a whole new compelling story line in their Zeldas or Marios, or Make a MMO out of their games. They also need to make new a few new game series if they want to sell.

Why doesn't Nintendo re innovate their games, and instead just put better graphics? Why don't they make more games, outside of Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda and Brawl?

Nintendo has 10 billion dollars in the bank by doing what they do. If you want to play an MMO, play WOW. Hell, if you want a Mario game with a story, play one of the many Mario RPG games, of which I'm sure we'll see on the Wii U.

You, like so many others, are making an argument based on what Xbox gamers want, but Nintendo doesn't sell games to Xbox fans, they sell them to Nintendo fans, so making Xbox games isn't in their best judgment.

So you want Nintendo to "re innovative" Mario and Zelda, yet the only ideas you pitch are voice acting and stories? What's innovative about adding voice acting and saying a game needs a new story?

And you think that will boost Mario and Zelda sales?

Mario had voice acting once. It did not impact the game whatsoever.

Zelda had online multiplayer once. It also did not impact the game whatsoever.

Making a predominantly single-player game franchise into a MMO will not guarantee a better game.

I do agree that recent and upcoming first party titles need more diversity. It's been far too long since the last F-Zero, Earthbound, and non-remake Starfox game. Hopefully we'll get more news on X soon.

Nintendo does 're-innovate' their games every few gens. It leads to games like Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime and Mario Galaxy - some of the highest acclaimed games of all time.

Sometimes they go a bit too far - I understand that Majora's Mask and Mario Sunshine didn't sell super-well, for example - so completely overhauling things may not actually lead to financial success.

The only thing stopping me from getting WiiU is lack of games overall. If I had one, I'd buy 3D World in a heartbeat, and I'd anticipate the next official 3D zelda heavily.

Boom. Argument invalid.

Also, as far as Zelda goes, Hyrule Warriors. Different enough for you?

If you actually pay attention to the games when they come out, you'll see they reinvigorate their old franchises in new ways, at least with Zelda and Mario. Are you really going to sit there and tell me that Mario Galaxy wasn't an absolute evolution of the franchise? Because if you are, you're flat out wrong.
