It seems that Gamespot (and some of the other big companies like IGN) aren't reviewing new releases for the Wii anymore. Even games that should be larger titles like "Tales of Symphonia" or "Call of Duty: WaW" are stuck at the "Here's a preview!" stage after release. Has the industry lost interest in the console or what?

Gamespot has been like that for ages. There's nothing to complain about IGN though, they always review games early and have great news coverage.

Still, all the holiday releases are coming out fast so it's a bit cramped up for reviewers at this time of year.

I wouldnt worry about GS reviews, they ususally rate Wii games lower then other sites.

If you want good Wii reviews go to IGN

what gets me about them isn't that they are late for reviews but they tend to be really harsh on the games, but now days ign is also getting harsh on wii games

It's sort of understandable. These days about 50% of all Wii games that get released are just mario party rip offs or shovelware. Nobdoy wants to review that.

Also, this is the time of year when all video game platforms get flooded with loads of new games. Keeping that in mind, it's reasonable to asume that they're just bust reviewing other games and don't have the manpower neede to review them all quickly.

The real question is, if you yourself have already decided to buy a game or not, why worry about what other people are saying about that game?

The answer is a matter of money. If you can only afford to buy one game every 2-3 months, then you read reviews to make sure you're gettign a good game. I know what ity's like, as I went through high school on an allowance of only $30 a month. So, from the way I saw it, I had to make sure I was getting a good game.

both ign and gs still review wii games. i have no why youd think otherwise. just go onto the wii section of either site and look at all the reviews. if you cant tell, the wii reviews are under the "reviews" button.

*looks at "animal crossing IGN gameplay topic* yup.

GS never cared about nintendo, dont worry. there are other sites (like IGN) or even magazines if you want reviews for your wii/DS

Gamespot doesn't really care about wii. I always go to IGN-wii for reviews and news.

Prirority. I doubt as many people were waiting for the review of Sam & Max: Season 1 as the people waiting for the review of, let's say, Call of Duty 5.

I think GS isn't really intrested in reviewing the Wii games. Could it be because they are called "casual games"?

Gamespot Wii is just bad in the review/news department.

I like how IGN updates for sure everyday and gives news and reviews. And IGN has reviewed World At War for the Wii

Your right, reviewers are biased against the wii. For example, notice how COD World at War is reviewed here for the 360 and PS3 but where is the wii review? Its not important to them. Example IGN instead of rating COD World at War in its own entirety on the Wii, the compare it to the other systems. In conclusion, the other systems get like a 9.5 and the wii version gets a 8.0. The wii owners seriously get shafted, look at whats going on with Sonic Unleashed. We get the crappy version soon, but they are working harder perfecting the two systems for a later release date, yet we pay the same amount for the game! Another example, Tales of Symphonia 2-a much anticipated release, its even backordered in a number of stores. Is there any review to be found on here? mmm, COD came out later than TOS and its reviewed first, but not for wii. Another example, notice how shaun white snowboarding got really good previews and discussion on IGN, but they concluded that the wii version wasnt worth getting. They didnt even take into account the innovative controls with the wii board. I seriously have to find another review site besides IGN and Gamespot, they have gone too far off track for me. Everyday I log on and the Wii screen is stagnant while the other consoles are getting reviews up the ass.

What I mean is I dont really care that GS doesnt review Wii games right away because I usually dont agree with them anyway, the score or the actual written review.

Fun Fact: Kirby Super Star Ultra has been out since September, and Gamespot still has not reviewed it.

Because they are all busy playing HD consoles games not the Wii games because they think it is not worth it, havent anyone notice the ratio of reviewed games on PS3 and 360 compare to the Wii? even though they deny the that fact, their actions speaks for itself, correct me if im wrong but why can they review games like Fallout 3, Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 near released dates of these games even though it is very time consuming since it cannot be labelled as "Casual" games.

go to this link and just count the reviewed Wii games compare to the HD consoles.

my deal with gamespot is they're reviews tend to be sporadic these days. They'll review some games and completely ignore others. Along with quite a few other gripes, gamespot has pretty much dropped off the radar as far as i'm concerned. IGN, 1UP are my mainstays now. The only thing I wish IGN would do more often is the at a glance ratings.

As far as reviews go, I use them as a loose basis to whether I should get a game or not. If I genre I like gets a low rating i'll still consider it, tho i'll rent instead of buy. If it's a genre I don't generally like but it looked good, and the review is less than 8 ill probably miss it altogether if its more I'll condsider renting it. But reviews bias does have a place in game reviews and some games you just won't like anyway. I didn't care for GTA4 but it got 10s everywhere. Well, I loved just doing whatever for a while but I couldnt get into the mission.Thats my take on it
