Am I the only one who's still enjoying the Wii too much to get a Wii U yet? Anyone else a bit irked when you heard about Wii U's loading times? After hearing about how the Wii and Wii U virtual console's won't talk (plus no way to transfer save files) I'm now on the fence. I want to get the Wii U later this year (when more games are out and after I actually finish my Wii games). Are you on the fence too? Do you have a Wii U? If so, how is it?

I bought one at launch. When we first got it we were in love with it , the long load times on the OS is true its rediculous but you know you just gotta deal with it its not really bad but for todays day and age it shouldnt take 30 seconds to launch a game. my seocnd complaint is the wifi is god awfu. like seriously hair ripping aweful it took me hours to download a small patch for zombiu which was less than 20 mbs, (not my router, or isp trust me). but i dont regret it im having fun with it beat mariou within launch week and bought zombiu and sonic all stars which are both really fun and have lasted me the 2 months. Over all i really like it and feel its going to have some amazing games but right now, if you were my friend i would suggest waiting maybe till summer when some more games and patches come out

No.  I am just waiting for Wind Waker U or other awesome games to come out first, since there is no point in buying one until it has enough I want to play.

I've still got a huge backlog of Wii games I have but haven't played, quite a few games I've beaten and want to go back to, and games I just love playing over and over... So I'm in no rush :P

The longer you wait to buy a new console (like the Wii U), the lower the price of the console will eventually drop too.

The longer you wait to buy a new console, the greater amount of fantastic games will accrue making the platform more attractive.

I bought my Wii's and Wii U's at launch, so I was ready for the Wii U to release as the Wii's trickle of exclusive software was getting rather sad. Having had a Wii since launch, it wasn't like I missed out on great games as they were releasing.

I always buy new consoles at launch, so my money for the Wii U was already set aside prior to it's announcement (same for upcoming consoles). Unfortunately, speaking from a mid-Febuary 2013 perspective, at this time the Wii U hasn't been giving me much of a reason to turn it on as of late. :(

You know, Iike you but after a month I just couldn't help myself. I NEEDED to play ZombiU lol Monster Hunter and ZombiU were my system sellers. Also, Nintendo still pumps out great games and its pretty obvious they'll make more for the Wii U. The loading times is a minor annoyance, not a deal breaker. I'm not truly done with the Wii though, I still have yet to play Xenoblade Chronicles and Redsteel 2.

There are games I want to play, but right now I don't have the money for one. That's "why I haven't got a Wii U yet".

Don't have the money yet, and I'm waiting for a price drop and for them to fix the os. Also probably won't buy it until zelda or a prime game gets released.

You should never buy a system at launch. Almost always, and is even more so for Nintendo, is the 6-month price crash. After the "new shiny thing" mentality of customers wears off, they have to tank the price just to drive sales. They know most people won't pay launch prices. They just want to see how many suckers are out there. If you give it 6-8 months after launch, IT WILL TANK. You know what they say: Good things happen to those who wait.

Seriously though, buying it now would be wasting money.

I always buy Nintendo systems at launch (starting with the Gamecube) and I've never regretted it. Also with the exception of the 3DS most Nintendo systems haven't really dropped in price quickly. I think it took at least a year for the Gamecube. The DS dropped by $30 after a few months but then not again for like 6 years and the Wii took like 3 or 4 years to drop in price.

livinitup01

you can transfer save files quite easily on a sd card...

the only saves you cant transfer or for games with online....in that case you have to do a full wii to wiiU system transfer

I am pretty much done with the Wii.

I am just waiting a little longer so that the Wii U gets more games and its price goes down a little bit, because right now, around these parts, it is being sold at a ridiculous price range.

It's been more than worth my purchase already. Buying early I might spend an extra 50 bucks on it or so but I get to enjoy all the games as they come out. I loved NSMBU. Can't wait for the DLC

I'm playing Star Fox 64 and Yoshi Story like there's no tomorrow. I'm in no rush to upgrade.

I was referring to virtual console save files. I heard that they won't work on the Wii U side, only on the Wii side of the Wii U (if that makes sense).

I received one for xmas, definitely the best console i have owed since the N64 (first console). The loading times are not an issue , waiting 10 secs isnt the end of the world. However the library is weak. I would suggest waiting until August so that you do not get caught up in xmas sales. The price wont be significantly less, it takes 1-2 years to get a decent drop since launch (it only 300 atm).

I personally buy for the Mario games then everything else is a bonus. I waited for the price to drop on the Wii and when it was bundled. I'll do the same with the Wii-U, no rush at all.

Waiting for the newest Smash Bros. to come out. Still have to finish Xenoblade (yeah I know wtf right?), play The Last Story, and then finish the Wii off with Pandora's Tower.

I never buy a system at launch. I'll probobly get one next Xmas when some better games come out. Monster Hunter looks great but you know capcoms gonna milk the hell out of it with DLC and then rerelease a complete edition for the same price. I have tons of ps3 games to play in the meantime.Â
