You would think by now you can walk into a store and buy it but no, is nintendo doing it on purpose or what. I want to buy a wii but if it's going to be this hard to get one screw it.

Because the demand for it is extremely high? Businesses like Nintendo don't have a secret infinite stash of consoles you know, they didn't think that the Wii was going to be as big of a success as it is and they are strugglign to get more Wiis out there.

because its this generations playstation ,, wether you like the systems graphics games or just the online it sef or not,

this is exactly how sony was successful ,, becasue look in the past 2 generations

\

whom had the least powerful console of the 3 or 4 if it applied

-ps1 32bit n64 64 bit -victor=ps1

ps2 gc xbox dc- ps2 was without a doubt the least powerful console excluding the dc we didnt have that option in 2001 ,

and it was the victor when xbox had powerful graphics and superb online or so they said ,,

same goes this gen

wii is logically also the cheapest, of the 3 along with being more popular ,, you dont walk in a store to see a wii,, youll have to wait and know when the shipments come in because the demand will never stop for it

Go to a random store like Rogers Video or Blockbuster ... I walked into Rogers yesterday and bought one of the three they had in stock. I asked when they got them in and they told me they got 4 about a week ago. People don't look in these places ... take advantage of that and you'll get one.

Demand is higher than supply. Nintendo would love to make more than they currently are, i'm sure.

No one thought the Wii would sell so well, not even Nintendo. They set up their production for a certain amount of Wiis, and it's not enough. They've increased production, but it's still not enough. It's not impossible to find a Wii, because people are buying hundreds of thousands of them every week. The trick is getting to a store right after the truck, because they don't last too long on shelves.

Smash Brothers can't be helping the situation, but they've never really been easy to find.

Not necessarily bad games, although it depends on where you go to get it. as I currentally work at a Toy's R Us myself, I can say that the only bundle we offer at this time is online through our website. I could be off on this, but from what I remember the bundle was something like Wiiplay, 1 classic controller, Super Mario Galaxy or something like that. whatever, LOL. Anyway, here's a little advice for those out there trying to get a Wii. The Wii is usually sold on the weekens, Sundays to be percise, except on those "freak shipment" occasions, with most of the locations recieving anywhere from 30-50, sometimes up to 100 systems. It varies by location, but where I am at we get around 2 shipments a month, sometimes 3 if we are lucky. Since the R Us stores had to roto the last shipment on the 8th,that means we should hopefully get some more in around 2 weeks, if we are lucky. Hope this helps, and to all those hipefuls out there, don't give up. Keep perservering and you shall have what you seek.

Well...

Heres my unpopular theory.....

Take into account I'm a Electronics manager at a Target.

I see these complaints every day.

Microsoft and Sony did this:

Made a more powerful, more expensive version of there past systems.
They are great systems.
The targeted audience (18-24) love it.

Nintendo said, screw this we need change.

The Wii is more powerful then the game cube, yes.
But not dramatically.

Nintendo changed what games are.
They targeted an audience of 1-100.

Thus sales SKY ROCKET.

Not only do they still release games for there gamer audience but they really try and support the casual player as well. And some how some games they make appeal to BOTH.

Motion sensor?
Easy interface?
Fun as hell?
250 dollars?

Everyone said: YES

I love my Wii.

If anything is NEXT gen it is the Wii.
Its DIFFERENT. NOT just an upgrade.

:)

That's not true, a lot of stores in my area are getting a constant supply of Wiis including Best Buy, EB Games, and even Rogers Video.

I actually just got one earlier today from gamestop. I walked in to sell a PS3 game and the guy asked if I had a Wii and I used the credit and bought the wii and smash bros brawl.

Apparently Wal-Mart is either 1.) expecting a lot to be shipped or 2.) they are holding their stock because nationwide they should have them this Sunday. I just started looking because of SSBB and NMH. Good luck though to everyone looking. Hopefully it will be in a few short days!

I really haven't looked for it until the past week because of SSBB and NMH. Has it been consistently difficult to get ever since launch? I mean surely there's been some reprieve in 16 whole months?

thank god i bought mine a few weeks after launch.

you may want to consider calling your local wal-mart, asking them if they have any in, if not, see if they are getting them in stock soon, if so, camp the night before they come in, that way you can pick 1 up at midnight and be garunteed a wii.

gl to all STILL looking.

p.s. ssbb, AWSOME!

I got one online a few days ago . I recommend http://www.nowinstock.net/wii/ if you are interested in acquiring one. Took me a few days, but it worked great when the time came. Make sure to get e-mail notification to let you know "exactly" when the store has them in stock. If you are quick, you shouldn't have a problem getting one.

The Wii is a phenomenon. It's selling at an alarmingly high rate.Nintendo is trying to keep up,but the demand is incredible. The theory that Nintendo is doing this on purpose is a bit flawed, considering every shortage means less sales for Nintendo, and eventually, people will stop trying to find a Wii and buy the consoles from the other companies.

For anyone still looking Wal-Mart should have them on sale tomorrow (Sunday 3/16). Just check your circular. If your store is 24 hours be there at midnight. Good luck everyone! : )

If you want to find the wii, go to a store where not a lot of people will go to buy it. I bought mine at Target, not EB Games or Gamestop.
