Why is no one complaining about having to use batteries with the Wiimote?

It's not hell but it has been pretty dumb that they didn't release some rechargeable battery pack or something. The batteries die within a weak usually... Anyone talking about it?

It's like buying a car. You think you're done but then there's gas...poo...Anyway I have some rechargeable AA's but they barely last as long as the Duracells, maybe 2/5ths the juice.

Still they should have just given you a cord for plugging the remote into the wall like you can with Ipods. It's dumb.

But why not plug it in while sleeping or at school? Would you like going back to the GameGear days (6 AA's hell!). Come on, it's really a step back.

Then you have weak batteries, grab some 2500 or higher and it'll solve that problem

Yeah 2500's last me a good week at least, but I switched to 1500's because they're lighter. My brother was using 850's and wondered why they only lasted 6 hours of play

Why should I complain about the prefect solution to portable power? AA batteries are brilliant.

  1. You can buy them all over the world
  2. Mutiple devices use them
  3. You can buy single use and Rechargables
  4. The batteries come at a reasonable price. £10 for 4 x 2500mA which can be rechared 1000 times.
  5. they dont charge in the device so you can just switch over.

Compared to build in batteries they are the best. the fact that the DS dosnt use AA or AAA makes me sad as that was one thing GB's where amasing at getting a lot of energy out of a AA

I've spent around $20 on batteries last year.. And the rechargables I use last for a few days of play.  That's why I don't complain; nothing to complain about.

I can tell Nintendo didn't include some rechargeable batterys with the Wii because it would be a little more than the nice round $300. I guess $330 or something would look weird so they decided to forget it. Bad theory but lol.

rechargeable batteries aren't very expensive and neither is a charger...probably get both for $15 at your local wal-mart ;) and just think! when you start your own "I'm gonna sell my Wii" post, you can put having to spend a whole $15 extra for batteries!

They are bastards for not including a lith-ion pack. I took me a week to run out and get rechargable 2700s, they are good but the rumble gets pretty weak mid life.

Batteries are not that expensive or that much of a pain. The only thing you might have to worry about is finding enough energy to get off the couch to find them.

Seriously, take 30 dollars, go to basically any game store, buy the Nyko Wii-mote battery pack and charger, and you will instantly have two controller's worth of batteries.  Spend 60 bucks and you're done forever. Pretty sweet deal.

We would just end up paying for it in the end.  Besides, I like the flexibility of being able to use rechargeable or regular alkaline batteries. Also, if my cheep rechargables eventually die on me I don't have to send away for some special part from Nintendo.  There is much more flexibility the way it is currently designed.

Also wii games are like $100 here in oz and I cbs paying that much for any wii game at this point. Even SPM

It's not so much of a pain but when u have rechargable batteries that are 50 batteries than it's not so much a hassle. The funny thing is i've been playing SPM for 2 weeks and every time i save t says my batteries are running low, please switch them, but when i don't they still run. They are everlasting batteries!

just buy recharable batteries. dont be lazy, im getting tired of people complaining about everything.  nintendo was able to keep the price down by not including all these bells and whistles.

I dont see anyone starting any threads complaining about the low low price of the wii?

Nobody really cares that much.  In todays day of Ipods and Digital cameras, the 20 hour battery life (or longer) for the Wiimote is paradise.

If it bothers you, go to the local walmart and buy a bundled package where you get a small recharger and 4 rechargeable batteries.  It's cheap and you can always have one set charging and ready for when the other set dies.   Or, you can go to someplace like EB which now sells the Wii charge kit which comes with 4 recharge batteries and a docking station for the Wii controller.  So when you aren't using the Wii, you just dock it and it will recharge.

ummm..... hey buddy, what's happenin?

you know, it is pretty silly to use the same technology that's been around since before you were born in a product, making it accessable to everyone and completely open to all future adaptations of that product. there are rechargable AA batteries on the market. and honestly, my grandpa worked on a flashlight for a month cleaning and rewiring it to try to make it work, showed it to me and i reversed one battery and it worked. everybody's still trying to get the hang of this technology so why would nintendo limit it's battery function to only thouse who know how to use a recharger?

Lithium Ion technology is fantastic.  I would have prefered that.  The trick to Lithium Ion, both in your DS, your Cell Phone, and any device, is only charging it once it has been completely depleted.  These batteries work on a memory charge system, so if you charge if for 6 hours 29 times, but on the 30th time only charge it for an hour, you've damaged the battery.  Responsibile consumers who only charge a device when they can leave it charging, will prolong the life of their batteries for a long long time.
My original iPod 1st Gen died on me because i was careless and plugged it and unplugged it, the more recent iPod and similar devices I have have never given me grief because I only charge an item when I know I can leave it plugged in over night.
A Docking station for the Wiimotes to charge them would have not only made a attractive accessory but added value to the Wii, without Lithium Ion Batteries, its just one more quality of the Wii that makes it lesser in comparison to its more powerful brothers.  My PS3 controller is very light, the Wii's rumble function is annoying, and there being no option to turn off that or the sound is frustrating.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii2 had Lithium Ion packs in its controllers.  The GBA, the DS, Nintendo is no stranger to Li Ion.

I don't have the benefit at looking my Wii now, but I seem to recall that you can turn both the sound and rumble off.

I actually take the batteries out of the wiimote everytime I play it. For some reason the batteries last much longer. If i keep the batteries in the wii mote they barely last 2 days.

it's not that bad. like it has been posted before recharge!!!

I have noticed especially with spm that it drains the batteries faster then other games. i am so glad i invested in rechargable batteries.

ok people, seriously. are batteries really that hard to buy? i cant thank nintendo enough for not including the wii mote with an unremovable rechargable battery like so many other things are coming out with now just to have them die. There is a very easy solution to everyone that is complaining like its the end of the world because they have to actually stop playing and change the batteries. Here it is.... GO OUTSIDE. PUT THE REMOTE DOWN AND GO OUT. that should save your battery life. dont worry, you dont need to beat zelda for the 10th time in one day,i wont think anything less of you for having a life.

why is no one complaining? because its a none issue.

No one's complained because the Wii is a fad, but it's definitelly super annoying. The battery life is pretty short too.
