Nintendo... from N64 to Nintendo GameCube made a Huge difference (about graphics)
Why didn't Nintendo made the Same now?? :(
It makes me sad because RE:5 and much more 3rd Party games don't coming for WII
Without 3rd party games (good games) Wii can't make success by it Self (Nintendo games only)

That's the way nintendo works, look at his past:
NES- Totally new console
SNES - Upgrade with better graphics
N64 - Totally new console, new 3D enviroments, etc.
GCN- Upgrade with better graphics
Wii - Totally new console, with motion and stuff
??? - Upgrade with better graphics
Certain successes on DS made Nintendo realise there was a new market waiting to milked of money, it has little to do with innovation, innovation does not have to come at the sacrifice of amazing graphics seen elsewhere. In Nintendo's eyes they made the assumption that the new userbase they hoped to attract would have little concern with graphics, and this despite the rapid innovations in GPU technology and how it has revolutionized gaming. It revolutionizes the very fabric of gaming when developers are able to replicate the real world attribiutes such as physics and textures and lighting. Nintendo have not aimed to do that, their games revolve around fantasy, not the replication of the real 3D environments. They have done so despite many of the credible developers wanting to create software of this kind.
Nintendo have chose a altenative route to where they see the future if gaming and the types of games they want to produce, and you now see those games in abundance now.

Exactly. Nintendo is a business and they changed their direction to make more money. And it's working.

You are completely wrong. Nintendo realized that gaming had been stuck since the days of the N64. Now we have two consoles that are just N64s on steroids with some decent graphics, and we have the Wii, that is changing the way games are played. Try Medal of Honor Heroes 2 with a Zapper or Mario Kart with a wheel to see just how dated the other systems are. I've played these other consoles, and I can't play them for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. Graphics do NOT revolutionize gaming. Besides, the Wii's graphics are just fine for me!

Not quite.

Graphics power does matter because we wouldn't keep getting so many trash 3rd party games, and PS2 portsclor0x
The graphics on the Wii are just fine. Look at Mario Galaxy. As for the cheap ports, no one is forcing you to buy them. The Wii is the best system out there.
I wish the Wii was like this:
CPU: 1 Ghrz
RAM: 128 RAM
GPU: 512 Mhrz
600p

What santiagochile said. Anyways, to santiagochile, I'm just like u when u said about not playing the other systems so much as the Wii. I have a 360 but I'm playing with the Wii more. I like both consoles the same. However, the Wii feels more worth the price. I see in that maybe the next Nintendo console may upgrade to graphics and keep the motion-controls. The graphics for Microsoft and Sony systems shouldn't really upgrade so much next-gen. If its possible, than technology would be moving too fast.Nintendo... from N64 to Nintendo GameCube made a Huge difference (about graphics)

Very few good third party games so far and the Wii is doing wonderful.
Okay, lets first analysize the errors in the title:
Why Nintendo didn't worked hard about Wii graphics?? :(
Error #1: Why didn't Nintendo worked hard about Wii graphics?? :(
Error #2: Why didn't Nintendo work hard about Wii graphics?? :(
Error #3: Why didn't Nintendo work hard on the Wii's graphics?? :(
Error #4: Why didn't Nintendo work hard on the Wii's graphics? :(
Based on the fact that there are four errors in grammar in the title of this topic alone, the opinion of the poster is worthless in this topic. I feel no need to further evaluate this topic.

I have a Wii and I feel the same way. Looks like Nintendo went the "casual" route. It's easier and cheaper for them to produce games and people still buy it. They do less work, but more people buy because of the Wii-mote and other "innovative" features. Even then, all I hear are excuses that the Wii is about gameplay over graphics and all that bullcrap. Every developer should work on games thinking how can I make this game look great AND play great. Not just one or the other. That's half-assing, imo. And you want to talk about innovation? Besides the Wii remote, nothing about it is innovative. Other games on Xbox 360 and PS3 push for innovation just as well but they still try to make their games at least look next-gen. Too many excuses from Nintendo if you ask me. Hell, they could have at least have the Wii support HD. AT LEAST...!

what competing console currently costs $599?
It doesn't matter how they're priced currently. Afterall, production costs go down with time. What they launched at is what really matters..[QUOTE="Resimaniac"]

??? - We'll link up with Nintendo using our cyber brains into virtual reality. At this point hard copy games will be obsolete... we will just download them into our brain's memory. People are already intergrating technology "onto" the human body = Bluetooth Headsets... It's only a matter of time before technology is commonly intregrated "into" the human body. This may not happen with Nintendo's next console, but it probably will happen in the near future.
it boils down to this.
twice (or more....i think the snes and nes were the most powerful in their days but im not sure) ninty were at the forefront of console graphic technology. twice their hardware put the victor in the shade. hell with the GC they even made a more powerful console for mess money than the victor of that gen. and twice they recieved a thourough beating for their troubles.
message recieved. the market wasnt interested in the latest graphics tech.
theres no reason why ninty couldnt make somethign as powerful as the other platforms......but who here thinks it would be anywhere near as successful at 500-600 dollars at launch? and chances are thats the kind of cost ure looking at since the R&D for the new controllers and the new hardware would need to be covered and ninty dont do selling at a loss.
