with all the n64 ports on the ds at the moment have we not had 2 of the most obvious ones, that would rake in BAGS of cash for nintendo:

Super Smash Bros and Legend of Zelda OOT

Imagine smash bros with 4 player wireless multiplayer on the DS. It'd be awesome! You could use the touch screen with a basic level editor like the one on the wii. Also, Zelda on DS would be amazing. A touch screen inventory, touch screen aiming with the Bow and Slingshot, Navi's hints could show on the touch screen in real-time rather than break up the action.

I really wish we could petition to Nintendo to make this a reality... I reckon there's millions of OOT and SSB players out there that would kill to have a portable version to take anywhere with them.

I'd rather have Perfect Dark and Banjo-Kazooie. Besides, OOT is on the VC and SSB is coming.

Oh wow that would be awesome! Ocarina of Time would look amazing on the DS, and if SSB came out, I'd need to make some friends who actually own a DS. . Yes, none of my friends have one, barely experienced the thrill of multiplayer. But still, they need to release these, and soon. YOU HEAR US NINTENDO?!? ... Yeah.. I think they heard.

unfortunately since Rare became part of the Microsoft Game group i think our chances of PD or Banjo on DS are incredibly slim :(

As long as Miyamoto works with Nintendo a OoT remake will not happen thankfully. Super Smash Bros wouldn't work on the DS so no.

I like new games

Great ideas there... SSB would be amazing. I don't think it should be a port of SSBB though, it should just be SSB DS and be made to fit the DS.

just curious, what about smash bros wouldnt work on the DS? Graphically it could handle it just fine, cartridge size would allow a bigger and better game than the N64 original and the controls for SSB aren't exactly revolutionary so could be mapped to the DS controls without a problem. Also, the wireless capabilities of the DS would mean awesome multiplayer games without the whole 'zoom in zoom out' camera problems of the current console iterations. Just wondering why you would state outright that it wouldnt work without giving any reason?

Also, why would OoT not get ported under miyamoto? It's already been ported to the Gamecube (along with Majora's Mask) and Wii, so it's not like he's adverse to having it on different consoles. I don't want them to 'remake' the game, i just want the same game but on my DS with touch screen features (like menu, aiming etc).

Those 2 obviously can't happen because Rare left nintendo.

And I'd much rather see new, original games on the DS than ports of games that we played 10 years ago.

Those games are/will be available on the Wii, any way.

There's a reason why Nintendo makes some franchises exclusive to consoles and some exclusive to handhelds. It gives consumers a reason to own both. That is why you'll never see Smash Bros on a handheld. And about Ocarina of Time, I don't know why you want them to spend time on a port when they are making excellent new games instead. Heck, you can probably buy an N64 and a copy of the game for the same price as you would pay to get a DS version. Just play the original!

That's actually not true. Rare is only exclusive to Microsoft for consoles. They can make games on any handheld they want. They made Viva Pinata and Diddy Kong Racing for the DS already.

Come to think of it,Perfect Dark would be one of the better N64 games to port, considering the control scheme would be much better to map up the DS than most other games. But with that said, legal issues would prevent that from happening in the first place.

The risk of butchering them and them not selling well.

Why would legal issues prevent it? Rare owns 100% of the rights to the Perfect Dark franchise and the N64 game. Rare is allowed to make games on the DS. They may need permission from Microsoft to work on such a project (I'm not sure) but they made DS games in the past, so why not now? That said, I don't think it will happen any time soon because Rare is busy making minigames for the launch of Natal.

I thought the only time we really saw N64 ports were when the DS just started up and needed games. :?

I would personally love to see OoT and SSB on the DS. But I don't think Nintendo would do it.

The controls wouldn't work for a SSB game neither the buttons or touch screen

And it wouldn't be a port of OoT it would most likely be a hurried remake

um...i dont believe that is the case. About smash on the DS, itmight be a decision from its dev company. its possible HAL labs just dont want to deal with it...

...but your statement is makes no sense. almost every nintendo franchise is on both systems and they say hi!
