Trust me guys buy it! I'm only 15 without a job, so you know how hard it is to get money jusdt through chores, and I was being a big skeptic about this... I mean I waited a month just thinking, then I was like fine I'll get it!!! When I got there I was really regretting it.... and then I said I'll buy it!

When I plugged it in, and played some Castlevania.... My reactions was "WOMG this is awesome!!!"
One other thing that people forgot to mention is battery life. The DS Lite battery lasts a little longer. I was able to play FFIII non-stop from Tokyo to LA without the red light of battery death coming on.

As a Nintendo fan, I'm sure you already know that graphics aren't more important then gameplay and personally have a lower preference for aesthetics then other gamers. So I do not care about the "significantly crisper graphics" or the "screen so bright you don't need a flashlight to spelunk". It is the gameplay that matters and I doubt the DSlite makes playing the games any more fun or easier. I am able to see my screen and play my games just fine, thank you very much. But hey, it's your money. If you wish to spend it on getting the DS Lite, go ahead I assume. Although if you have money to spare I'd get another game or something, or even save it up for something else in the future.he GBA games on the DS Lite they will stick out a bit and the screen is much brighter and the graphics significantly crisper.
Exactly, you guys are all just going "Liek, u should totally buy it leik we did wut;" Instead of trying to get the person to question why he should, could he really afford it, and whether it is a smart purchase. I haven't seen one person who said "Only get it if you really want to, but since you already have a DS it isn't like you need a DS lite". But hey, if you guys prefer getting Gameboy Micros, The Wii-Mini, etc go ahead. I'll stick with what works. And tell me why Mikazukinoyaiba, we would want him to waste his money unless we thought it was really worth buying
What I'm saying is that it is a good purchase even if you have the Original DS. I had the original DS, then bought the DS lite onyx, and now i am selling it on ebay. It IS a good deal even if you have the Original DS.Exactly, you guys are all just going "Liek, u should totally buy it leik we did wut;" Instead of trying to get the person to question why he should, could he really afford it, and whether it is a smart purchase. I fail to see why losing money is a good deal.Mikazukinoyaibaits not losing money. Explain why you think its losing money. are you saying he shouldn't spend money on anything because he will be losing it? He should just save and save for the rest of his life then, right?
That is an entirely different arguement irrelevant to the matter at hand.are you saying he shouldn't spend money on anything because he will be losing it? He should just save and save for the rest of his life then, right?
Let's see, this guy plans to trade in his current DS to get roughly $50 and then spend another $80 + tax to get another DS. The very fact he is trading his old DS in is proof enough that he is losing money. He is paying for something he had before all over again, or else he would keep the old DS if it indeed would have a purpose and the action of keeping the DS is a lost of money over the action of trading it in and purchasing another DS.ts not losing money. Explain why you think its losing money.
Well you think that the DS lite and the DS are similiar and i think that the DS Lite is a much bigger step up then the Original DS. We are never gonna agree on this. Anyways, to the original poster, look at all the posts and make your decision from that. That is an entirely different arguement irrelevant to the matter at hand.are you saying he shouldn't spend money on anything because he will be losing it? My dear Mika :
I don't know if you got the memo, but here, in case you missed it when you went and signed up to be a member of the Gamer club:
1. WE ARE NOT ECONOMICAL. If it looks COOLER, SHINIER, or SPEWS MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF BLOOD and screams HAX afterwards, we'll get it.
2. WE BUY EVERYTHING "OUR" COMPANY MAKES. Ex. The Virtual Boy.
3. WE DO NOT EVER TELL A FELLOW GAMER TO "NOT GET ____." The correct phrasing is "It's lame," "It has no games," or "Dude it's N dollars," N being a number between infinity and all the cash we have in our pockets. (Generally upwards of 200)
4. UPON VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE ABOVE LAWS WE FORFEIT CLUB MEMBERSHIP. All dues, fees, and insults are sent to you via the information superhighway. By policy, we continue the flames, "n00b," and various profanity deliveries for 3-6 months after forfeit of membership, or as long as we remember.
Thank you for you service. n00b.
In other news, ALL video games are a waste of time. Why buy a DS when you could get a pencil and paper? Why play RPGs when you have DND? Why get BrainAge when you can host parties every night and count people going in and out by hand?
 Oh right, 'cause it's fun.
And it's always good when then fun goes on longer (better batteries), is easier to see (brighter), can be done more fashionably (sleek design), and--get this---is more portable(Oh, I dunno, has anyone tried shoving a psp down their back pocket recently?)
The DS Lite is more than worth buying if you are yet to get a DS at all. But if you have the original, the Lite is one of those things you're going to be looked at oddly for not having. Trust me.
DS Lite is better.
here are some video reviews on the DS Lite, which are pretty good.
they compare the DS vs the DS Lite, and even the PSP:
