Can anyone tell me why Nintendo is waiting a full month to release to the North American audience?

Nintendo always delays completed games to release them at the time they want. This is just another one of those circumstances.

A lot of times, a company will claim that its for the manufacture of more units to ensure consumer demand.

With Nintendo, its just hoarding.

They know it, and are making us suffer because EA must have cut them a pretty sweet deal to have the WM+ exclusive to EA games for a set amount of time before Nintendo squashed their titles like a bug.

Until then, more Punch-out adverts!

I think it was a good move to allow 3rd party games to start the motionPlus. At least EA can't blame Nintendo for not letting them have a chance to increase their sales.

Besides, Wii Sports Resort is selling great in Japan so they can use the excuse of making sure there isn't a shortage of MotionPlus or the game when it comes out. Relax the game will be out for us to play in the summer :)

Ouch, if I recall correctly, that's almost exactly one year after the N.American release.

And Nintendo always waits: Brawl came out two months later, the DSi came out about 6 months later, and the Pokemon games are always released about 6-8 months later.

Most game companies do that.

It might be more complicated backstage or simpler, I don't know.

If it's just a matter of translating things, there really would be no need to delay, but I'm sure it's not that simple.

Or maybe they just hate Americans.

It's probably because Wii sells the most in the U.S, so they don't need to rush it out here.

This is a well-known fact about Nintendo. Time and again they have stated this much when explaining why certain games will never come to America.

But they really hated us when they published a survey to bring over Tingle on the DS and we said no. A lot of our current punishment probably still centers on that past act of indifference.

I'm pretty much sold on this game, but not definitely yet, so I'm fine with waiting.

I have a theory on games in general including Wii Sports Resort being released late either retail or digital download. The problem is probably us in Quebec. In Quebec, publishers need to traduce games in French. If they don't, the game can't be released in Quebec. The government made a law to this. Since Quebec is in Canada and Canada is in the NTSC territory which it's NA, publishers want to release a game in the entire territory at the same time. They delay the game for the traduction. I know it's weird but I play all my Wiiware and Wii games released in 2007 and after in French. Before 2007, it's in English. Nintendo is releasing all their 1st party games in French. It will be weird to see Metroid Prime Trilogy or the next Zelda in French.

Seriously I don't care if the game is in French or English, I'm perfectly billingual. If the game isn't released here, I'll import it from Ontario.

Those darn Canadians. Haha, not really. I heard that it you could play the entire game at Six Flags, and thus, it must have been translated into English already, I assume.
