Why'd you get a DS?

I got it for three reasons: There were lots of games on it I wanted, I wanted to try out the touch screen, and Nintendo is awesome.

So, what was your reasons, if you have one?

I WILL be getting one.

My reasons:

I love the design of the lite. Looks durable

Been with Nintendo since birth and they never dissapoint me in they're handheld's

Lots of games and a lot of good titles.

I love Nintendo, they make quality games. I thoroughly enjoyed my GameBoy Colour, and now that i'm older and buy games often and on my own (i was much younger in the GBC days, never got a GBA), the DS is just perfect.

Plus, now i like it more than any console i have.

It was the new Nintendo handheld.

Wanted it that much i bought it overseas. Then was stuck with two games for 3-4 months waiting for the Australian release.

It's portable and doesn't have region codes. I wanted a system I could enjoy in different locations around the world over a long period of time.

But between the PSP and the DS, I went for the DS for the games and the price.

Couldn't miss out on the latest Mario Kart. Turned out to be my favorite of the series :D__Hobbes__

ditto. owned every nintendo console but this was my first handheld, ever. got the DS when Mario Kart came out, then the Lite when it released plus a 2nd copy of Mario Kart, for multiplayer with friends

I'll be getting my DS along with Final Fantasy IV come this July.

Hello everyone. I'm new here.

I bought DS because it houses the titles that I want to play. Namely, anything made by Nintendo. And also The World Ends With You of course.

I love Nintendo, they make quality games. I thoroughly enjoyed my GameBoy Colour, and now that i'm older and buy games often and on my own (i was much younger in the GBC days, never got a GBA), the DS is just perfect.

I bought it because:

1. I've always been a big fan of Nintendo.

2. I've really enjoyed Nintendo's past hand held systems.

3. I liked the idea of touch-driven gameplay.

4. The games looked very fun.

5. The graphics were nice.

6. It's a very strong system.

7. I knew a Pokemon game would be coming out.

I had today to be a honest. Finsihed RE4. FINALLY!

yeah, ever since the gameboy, i've always had to own a nintendo handheld. it also had alot of good games that i needed to play suck as the Castlevania titles. plus, i enjoy playing fun games that are just easy to pick up and go, where my psp games are more like the sit down a concentrate type.

overall, its just fun

Thought it was a bit girly at first when i saw it,

So I got one for my girlfriend for christmas, then one day I suddenly realised, I was playing it more than her.

The games are alot of fun, so I got one for myself a few weeks ago, Love mario Kart its totally awesome, got Sonic and mario at the olympics also which is not too bad.

Still more of a psp man myself but the ds is a fantastic and Value for money machine.

I looked at the games that were out at the time I bought it, I looked at the games that were going to come out for it and then I imagined what other possible games that there may be out on it one day.

two reasons why i got DS and its actually the same with why i got my Wii..

1. innovative control system.. im done with the button mashing genre..

2. N I N T E N D O.. :)

1) Nintendo hasn't failed me with a handheld before, why not?

2) Appealing touch controls.

3) It was Sony's first foray into the handheld market, I had no idea how good or bad the PSP would be.

Anyhoo, I got a DS because it was new, cool looking, and expensive. When I got my DS for Christmas, I asked for Metroid Prime Hunters, and I got Spider-Man 2. :evil: I was P.O.! I didnt know at that time that time that MPH wasn't even released yet! Lol, oopsees. :D

-When I was like... 8 I got an original (fat-boy) Gameboy

-When I turned 10 I got a gameboy pocket and pokemon blue for my birthday (fell in love with both)

-When I turned 12 I got a teal Gameboy Color

-In 2001 I bought a Gameboy Advance the day that it came out

-In 2003 I traded in my Gameboy Advance and bought a Gameboy Advance SP

-When I found out about the Gameboy Micro I went out and bought one the next day

-I got my original Nintendo DS the day that it came out

-When they came out with the Nintendo DS Lite I traded in my original DS and got the Lite

I guess the easiest way to explain it is to say that I've been addicted to Nintendo handheld systems since I was really young and always want the newest one, because I know that its going to be awesome.

I got the D.S. because i found it in a club...

I've had a GB, GBC, GBA. I told myself I would stop handheld gaming after GBA. Well, when my siblings came home with a DS my uncle bought them and I tried Yoshi Touch and Go, I said screw it, here I come DS.RichyRulez
