OK staright to the point. WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG FOR NITNEDO Wii GAMES IN GENRAL TO HAVE Wi-Fi support? You'd think for a system that has was less graphics than 360 and ps3 that nintendo would even try and get an edge on online gaming especially when they dont have to worry about developing as in depth graphics. It's just been an overall disapointment that games back in november like cod 3 didnt have wi-fi because nintendo is clearly having some sort of issues with it. AND dont say wi-fi and online sucks so who cares, internet lets u play with friends from everywhere around the world and adds great replayability, only nintendo fanboys settle for no online, i know some games like zelda duh dont need it but some games need it ie COD 3.

I don't think Ninty wanted online because of all the family friendly issues with online multiplayer but because theres sooo much demand for games with online that they started to shoehorn games and set up friendcodes etc. You'll probably see more games come out with online features but without voicechat i doubt many developers outside nintendo will bother!

should they have had it at launch? sure. but, consider a few things. they did have online services set up for us on day one...and if you remember correctly, they started rolling out different features every now and then (internet, weather, weekly VC updates). i believe that nintendo just had too much on their plate at once...and they were trying to remain financially responsible through it all. they have ridiculous production time spent on the ds. they had a new controller and new console that they were trying to go out and showcase by holding a TON of events for people to get hands-on (the public, not just game journalists)...and think about that....did microsoft or sony ever do this? concerts going across the country, large kiosks at malls...i mean, come on, this takes a lot of effort. do i give them a pass? maybe slightly. but, i too am peeved that the most online i've gotten on this system is to share levels in elebits. it will get better, as others have posted, but like you said...it should have been here. they've got okay reasons why it wasn't, but some some, that just isn't enough. lucky for you, but the wait is almost over...

Ok lets see....

Super mario strikers (im Aussie) - Great fun.... the service is bad though.... lag.. uncompetitive... but overall, fantastic game.

Battalion wars 2 - if done right it will be GREAT. My most anticipated title for 2007.

Pokemon - I dont have anything to say for this game.

So.. 3 games confirmed for online in 2007. Thats not too many is it.

The topic creator has a rela point. Nintendo really need to sort this problem. Wii is my favourite console for this gen, but the lack of online games really hurt it. I really hope that E3 shows alot more online games because online adds replayability... you can only pass the single-player mode on a game so many times.

People have very short memories apparently. Xbox live wasn't very great at all during it's first year plus Microsoft poured hundreds of millions of dollars into it and guess what they haven't overcome their losses on it yet.

Nintendo had online for the Super Famicom, N64 and guess what those services failed. Sega had online as well guess what it failed. Nintendo didn't invest heavily into online because numerous consoles and other console's expierence with online showed it to be a waste of time. It takes time for online that is cheap for the consumer and profitable for the company to be implemented.

Wii online service attachement rates are higher then the xbox 360 due to the built in wifi. 40% of wii owners have gone online. Millions of vc games have been bought. Much much more then xbox live or PSN services.
