This is a question that I think all wii owners would be interested in. What would be Nintendo's next console. Will it have a new control scheme? Will they make it more for the hardcore gamers and away from the casual gamers? What do you think?

I think the control scheme will remain the same. The hardware will be equivalent to the competitor's specs, maybe a little less to keep size and cost down. Better online community system would be nice, and use of the Desktop VR system would be extremely cool. I think it will caer to both casuals and hardcore gamers.

i believe that wiis next console will keep the unique controles just make them more advanced, upgrade the onine capiability and maybe the graphics will be up to par next generation. Its still going to be the cheepest console out there.

Whoa whoa whoa, thats WAY too soon to think about.
But I think it wouldn't be like our current wii. I think they'd go back to the old, 'press buttons to do stuff,' thing.

It better have motion controls so that it'll be backwards compatible... and maybe gamecube controller ports ...but we have like five years for that to happen :?

Pretty much equal to the consoles of the next gen. Same control sheme though it may be modified. They will remain faithful to the nongamers that they have aquired, but they will expand back into the gamer's field even more. Which shall inadvertently put them into compitition with Sony and Microsoft.

I think "Hardcore Gamer" is a BS term. There's absolutely no "universal definition" anymore. It's been so corrupted by people who think being "hardcore" makes them cool, and refuse to admit that most of the games they play fall under the classic definition of "casual".

Anyways... the Wii targets much the same audience as the PS2. Considering how successful that was, and how successful the Wii has been,it would be a mistake for them to change.

As for control, well I do personally predict that at least one next-gen system... perhaps Nintendo's.... will stress voice recognition control. We may also see actual motion tracking (detecting the position of the controllers/players relative to each other and to the TV), rather than just motion sensing.

I think their next console will be a Holographic Room with sensors everywhere. The Nintendo Vomit they'll call it.
