This is going to come accross as me being a troll, but that isn't my intent. I'm a xbox360 owner and am thinking about buying a second console later this year, but to be honest, I know almost nothing about Wii outside of the fact that it has a motion sensing controller and some very cool game franchises I grew up with (Zelda, Mario, etc.). To this date, most of my comparison research has been between PS3 and XBOX360.

I can't seem to find Wii Video or Audio specs.

I've heard Wii isn't HD. What resolution is it then. 480i? 480P?

What audio output choices are there? Mono, Stereo, 5.1 Dolby Digital? I thought I heard no dolby digital which seems like it would be a shame. The wii controller could be very immersive for some games and surround sound would greatly add to that immersion. I hope its at least stereo.

Thanks for any answers.

Cool! Thanks.

This choice is going to be hard. I think Wii is overpriced for what you get hardware wise, but has more games I would really like to try (Resident Evil 4, MP3, Zelda, SMG). I like PS3 because I'm kind of a home theater nut, and I'm going to eventually want a blu-ray player. I don't like the PS3 games selection as much though, and it cost even more than Wii.

Because of the Wii's incredible popularity, I don't see its price dropping anytime soon.

The Wii is pretty cool for $250. The only lacking thing hardware wise is DVD playback and HD output. Other than that, it does everything well.

It is compared to the 360 and PS3. Nintendo makes a little money on every Wii it sells. Sony and Microsoft lose money on their hardware.
