Wii Conection Ambassador

I lend my wii to a friend for two months now that I have it back I got the news of the free wii game I'm allowed to download because I bought the internet channel in the time it was worth 500 points but

I also read another news about something called Wii Connection Ambassador, from what I've understood It works like this

If you make someone go online for the first time with your wii console each of them will get 500 points if you get 10 people to log in you'll be able to download all NES games for free and if you get 20 you'll get a new rank (platinum I think) and you'll be able to download SNES, N64 games for free (not wii ware games though) and you'll get like 10,000 points

I think it's too cheap or too god to be true but I just can't believe you can earn points like this, can anyone confirm this? and if you can can you explain it? I mean how do I make someone go online for first time using my console and his/her??? I sitll don't get that part also, is this on america already? I heard it's already in europe I'm not too sure
