I got mine at Christmas 06 so it was probably a Launch Wii. I've never had a problem with any of my Nintendo systems, just lucky I guess.
Have their been any "typical" Wii Console problems? By typical I mean the "Red Circle" Xbox 360 is infamous for...my Wii went from running and fine yesterday, to 100% dead today. Its like the power isn't even plugged in, so I am hoping its a simple wide spread issue with their power brick or something...any help would be appreciated.bbdowalt
Widespread issue? Nope, sorry. The failure rate for Wii is less than 1%. You just happen to fall in that
I called Nintendo today and they are going to repair or replace my Wii for free. I will strongly recommend them now for that simple thing, they stand behind their products while Xbox wants you to pay for their issues.
Thanks for your help everyone!!!

before you send it in you should try unplugging the power cable from both the wall and the wii. Then wait around an hour and try plugging it in again. This happens to me after power failures.
