Is any else upset about where the wii is now? I know a lot of fanboys will be bragging about the wii making most sales and beating the other two consoles. I think that rule does not stand right this generation, for the first time I think the top selling console is not the console with the best gaming library (If any one think that wii library is better than 360 you are just simply a liar), we are also facing a problem that the most selling console is not even in the competition range.

Long before genesis and snes, psx N64, gamecube-xbox-ps2, they are different , some less than the other spec wise , but firs something that is totally not even in the competition range beats the amazingly better system. PS3 plays bluray, wii cant even play dvd's . Storage on 360 ps3 is plent with 20-40 GB of space. Wii owners are crying because of low storage memory. ps3-360 are putting HD graphics, wii is putting almost graphics equal to the ps2-gamecube-and original xbox I heard can put better graphics.

I am not crying over why the wii does not match the other console standards because I know what I was buying when I did. I am not trying to prove that ps3/360 are the choice to go because this should be in system war. The reason i listed the above that I am trying to prove to you that ps3/360 probably beats the wii in every way except price, yet the wii is winning so there is something different here, not because it is actually better. So no one tells me, it is because it sold the most. I bet more toyota pirus is selling that ferrari's combined, but that doesnt make the pirus a better car.

I think the all people bought the wii for the one thing they obviously all did for, motion control. Since the wii was going out and everyone was excited how the wii mote can turn into a tennis racket, a hammer, screwdriver, whatever and that the game will move with your hand movement and this is why we got the wii even though there is not enough storage, no hd graphics, way behind the competition except in motion sensing. I recall nintendo saying that graphics does not count , gameplay does, and yes they are right.

Flash forward to mid 2008.

The wii library consist of shovelware, last generation ports, bad graphics usage with developers not putting effort in them. Here is a statistic based on gamespot ratings...

out of the top 20 wii games:

5-are 15 year old games for snes and nes

2-10 year old games for 64

2-ps2 ports

8-Of the top 20 games you can get for the wii DOES NOT USE WII MOTION SENSING WHAT SO EVER!

so much for a console that plays on the idea of fun games based on gameplay and motion sensing.

I think we waited enough a whole year and a half later we dont get delivered on the promise of good motion sensing controls. With probably the best game to use this capability of this console is bloom box, and the best motionsensing use is the first and the free game that comes with the wii...wii sport.

Not even nintendo is using the motion sensing! Motion sensing to collect stars? You make flips in MKwii to get boost? the wheel is probably the worst way to drive and the analogue is so much more precise. Motion sensing is not even used in supersmash!

All I want is the reason this console was made for, to make games that use motion sensing in an innovative "gameplay" way. back then the possibilities seemed limitless, now we are not getting anything! Did nintendo stopped caring and all they want now is to make more money and as much as they can? I dont even see future efforts to put the idea of great games that use motion sensor.

I dont get it. For the last 30 years or so, all the different consoles did was put buttons in different arrangement on a controller, with analogue being the only advancement, and we got all these great games we know like resident evil final fantasy, mario, metal gear, list does not stop. Now we have this new way of input that is great with buttons PLUS motion sensing of up,down, right, left, forward, backward, twist, and even speed. yet we are not getting what we are supposed to get.

What saddens me is that while this console beats all the others in sale and has the largest consumer base, yet we are getting these ports and hardly motion sensing games. All developers should be concenetrating on this console , yet we are not getting the care that we should. Can you imagine what if the wii sales were just as equal as the 360? Probably all that wii will get is shovelware.

i think the wii after a year and a half failed to deliver on the promise of its motion capability. It upsets me that in the future I do not see any hopeful projects. it seems all people want is to buy the next zelda, kirby, mario, and their wet dream kid icarus or whatever it is called. I was hoping to get great adventure games like resident evil, great boxing game, some great tennis game. I mean this motion sensing is a god send to this type of games, yet we dont see it on the wii...I dont understand!?

I would keep quite if I knew that there are future projects to be worked on, but no, there is nothing more than the upsetting usual for the wii. All the hopeful projects and new games are made for the 360 or ps3. RE5, gears of war, little big planet, fable, its all NOT on the wii. What we got on the wii is a zelda that was supposed to be only for the gamecube and last generation ports. I was one of the people who did not want HD graphics and rather have innovative gameplay. i want to play in last generation graphics but in innovative new games. But no, and there seems no signs of it in the future.

It exceeded mine. This is the best Nintendo console I have owned since the N64. Nintendo's big games released this gen are some of the best in their series.

I agree with you. Lately it seems that Nintendo doesn't even care about the hardcore gamers anymore. The WII however was made for casuals. And I don't blame them. There are more casuals out there and they would buy the WII other then the 360/ps3. The WII has alot of potential in the motion sensing but it seems other developers don't really care for it. Some of the games that used the WII remote in the best possbile way was WarioWare: Smoothmoves and Metroid Prime 3. Other than that I say it was a add on. For example Super Mario Galaxy, Waving your remote to collect star bits and attack? Come on.... I'm just glad they didn't overuse the remote.

I'm not hating the WII. I'm just saying they are not making games that are actaully "DECENT" after MK WII and Brawl, what do we get besides some shovelware till the holiday season? Nintendo used to be good in the old days but now I'm starting to think they are just getting greedy and throwing out anything for it's consumers, and expect us to buy anything that they throw at us.

I can't believe I read through all that, ok, your saying that the PS3/360 have Blu Ray Hardrives and HD Grahpics ok let me tell you something, YOU don't want a gaming system, you want a computer, HD grahpics doesn't matter, Gameplay matters, having fun matters.

Why would a gaming system have a Hardrive? what's wrong with a simple Memory card? you only need a Hardrive for a computer, Your saying that the Wii doesn't even have a DVD player.... umm... lets see....... BECAUSE ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE ONE!!. ITS A GAMING SYSTEM!!, Where you insert your Disc in the system. grab your controller and play.

I'll admit that the 360 has a bigger library of good games than the Wii, and I'll admit that the Wii needs some games for the hardcore fans.

PS3/360 having a Hardrive, Blu Ray and all that stuff doesn't make it better than the Wii, because all that stuff has nothing to do with gaming, I compare the systems in which has games I like and buy the one with the games I like.

and one last thing, just because Nintendo announced that they're controller has a motion sensor, DOES NOT MEAN THEY HAVE TO USE IT FOR EVERY GAME!!

I am not a fanboy, I like all the systems, allthough I buy the systems which has the games I like. I will get a 360, but that doesn't mean I'll start bashing the Wii and PS3 when I do, I'll own both the 360 and the Wii and I still will not bash the any other system I don't own.

That actually made me giggle like a schoolgirl. Nothing should be based on gamespot ratings. Period.

So, how long do you think it takes to develope good games for a completely new console? One where you don't just have to update graphics but actually have to get used to a new way of playing? Adding the fact that nowbody knew that the Wii would be selling like cake, I'm pretty sure that no developer came up with great ideas right from the start. Games will come. I have absolutely no doubt about that. It just takes time. Don't want to wait? Fine, sell it then and be happy.

Agreed. It's like the gamecube, but instead of no games inbetween Nintendo titles, we get constant crap.

I do not agree. The Wii has exceeded my initial expectations. So there.

I can't think of a logical order to reply, as your comments were so illogically ordered, so I will just number my replies to things I can pick out from your big Wii rant:

1) You don't have to buy the shovel-ware, just like with any other console.
2) Motion Controls aren't necessarily the best thing for old franchises, ie most of the good games on the wii.
3) You failed to give any accurate reason why this actually shouldn't be on system wars since all you are doing is complaining about it and not trying to point anything out like you say.
4) Basing things on GameSpot ratings is like basing things on things you just made up.
5) Spell Check = Good.
6) If Nintendo had "stopped caring", surely they wouldn't be developing games themselves.
7) "No signs of innovative games in the future"? - What about everything to come at E3?

I think the all people bought the Wii for the one thing they obviously all did for, motion control.Willy105

I didn't know you had an account, Captain Obvious. I'll have to read your blog some time.
I dont understand!?Willy105

So you have to flip the remote to get a boost in MarioKart Wii and use the remote to collect stars? Who cares?! Would you rather be doing 15 button-combos to do the same effect?

Some of the things you want would require the motion control to be more precise than it is. Keep in mind though that this is the first we've ever seen of motion control in a home console. This is effectively the 'Beta' and if you didn't know that going in then shame on you.

For what its worth I enjoy the Wii. Yes it could use more 'good' games. Yes it could use more games for the 'hardcore gamers'. Yes we could all do without all the shovelware. However, Nintendo still stuck to its roots as being a fun, simple, and innovative system. For that, I applaud them!

First of all, the grammar is terrible. Second of all, I disagree. Boom Blox uses motion sensing, last I checked.
