Unplug all the cables (power, AV, sensor bar and USB devices you may have; the power cable should be unplugged on both ends, the Wii and the wall socket), remove the SD card and Gamecube Memory card if you have them, let the Wii sit for 10 or 20 minutes. Then, plug the power, AV and sensor bar back on and try to turn it on.

There's a big chance this will work; give it a try before you send the Wii to Nintendo.

This has happened to me recently. All you have to do is unplug the power supply from both the Wii and the wall socket for 2-3 mintues. Plug them back in, and your Wii should work fine. You don't have to unplug everything on the console, just the power supply.

I got this info from Nintendo.com: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/ts/power.jsp

It sounds like a 'brown-out' - something that hard-disks hate. A temporary loss of power or even diminshed supply of power can corrupt a HDD forever. Hope that hasn't happened.
