Wii Disc read error

I recently got Mario Party 8, and when I play it once in a while I get "DISC READ ERROR" messages. I was wondering if any one else experienced a similar problems and besides contacting Nintendo wat did you do?? Thanks in advance.

do you have the disk in the right way perhaps?

Make sure you inserted the disc on the right side.

There are a number of posible errors you may have the disk in the worng way or it may be dirty if it is clean it. If this problem persists look at the stikied - Faults for your Wii - at the top of the Nintendo wii forum.

Nope I've been putting the disc in the right way. I get the error messages during gameplay.

It's either a problem with the Wii or the game, I got a Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz game that had a huge scratch and it didn't work. You may need to return the game.
